Why was that thread just pulled?

youarekidding Wed 13-Jul-11 20:36:58

St Clares, your Twins enjoyed it that summer term. wink

I always wanted to go Malory Towers, have the nerve of Elizabeth the naughtiest girl in school, and have adventures like the famous five. Enid Blyton has a lot to answer for. grin

Now I just want to go to Hogwarts but I'm not sure I'd receive a traditional English Education there wink

I think circus girl Carlotta was responsible ....

I typed a post and wooosh it was gone

reelingintheyears Wed 13-Jul-11 20:42:29

grin
They were very naughty girls though.

Poor old Miss Theobald had her work cut out.

BTW....I didn't report anything.....i am not a sneak.

Racist OP.

It's Kingscote for my money, especially for gels who like cricket.

HumphreyCobbler Wed 13-Jul-11 20:49:48

ooh yes, Kingscote for me too please

SecretNorbertFix Wed 13-Jul-11 20:50:25

I'd prefer the chalet school to be fair. Pretty uniform, loads of excursions, Swiss chocolate!

usualsuspect Wed 13-Jul-11 20:51:39

I never reported it ,it was too funny to report

LawrieMarlow Wed 13-Jul-11 20:52:34

Kingscote for me too smile

LawrieMarlow Wed 13-Jul-11 20:53:30

Although despite my name am really not a Lawrie. Would like to be Miranda I think.

heronsfly Wed 13-Jul-11 20:57:08

Chalet school for me too,but I might skip the cold baths in the morning, even if it was followed by Anna steaming hot( special receipe )chocolate.

reelingintheyears Wed 13-Jul-11 21:23:41

Cripes....just saw this on 'i'm watching'......

Had forgot.....grin

Gotta larf.

I always fancied Trebizon School - a bit less dated than Malory Towers.

However I don't think they got the talk 'we don't count our sucesses as those who get good grades, although of course these are great acheivements, but we count sucesses as those who...............' or something like that. grin

reelingintheyears Wed 13-Jul-11 21:40:34

Trebizon School?

Never heard of it.

Sorry.

Not Enid Blyton.

Milngavie Wed 13-Jul-11 21:43:29

St Clare's here.

Didn't like the Malory Towers uniform grin.

Would definitely want to go to the chalet school given the choice. What I couldn't do at a sheets and pillow case party!

jenniec79 Wed 13-Jul-11 21:48:12

Malory Towers seemed more fun than St Clare's, but the Naughtiest Girl was at a mixed school that did gardening which sounded cool (my school had pupils' gardens way back when the latin teacher was a gel there, but they were tarmacced into netball courts by the time I was there- shame, I'd have rather grown peas!)

I really wanted to have adventures caused by being in a stolen helicopter etc (valley of adventure) and solve crimes like Fatty and the Find-outers though.

SecretNorbertFix Wed 13-Jul-11 21:49:49

you could have the baths lukewarm if you wanted- just not hot!

PotteringAlong Wed 13-Jul-11 21:52:50

Hot baths. The scourge of the devil along with sleeping in and not keeping your cubicle tidy... smile

lovecorrie Wed 13-Jul-11 21:55:15

But no-one in any of enid blytons books ever went for a wee or a poo did they? Even on islands or up mountains. NEVER!

lovecorrie Wed 13-Jul-11 21:57:08

Fatty was so called because of his initials you know - Frederick Algernon Trotteville. I want to go on Mastermind and have EB as my subject

Feenie Wed 13-Jul-11 22:09:07

Me too - but I would win grin

LawrieMarlow Wed 13-Jul-11 22:14:53

I could join in from the sidelines smile

Kingscote for me for sure. I'm probably Ann. Although I would like to be Miranda. Or, Nick, obv.
