Does anyone have children here or know anyone who has? Would really appreciate some feedback, many thanks.

Ah, not promising then. Do you mind me asking where else you looked?

I was looking for secondary for my dd at the time, and looked at Talbot Heath, Canford, Bournemouth School for Girls and Parkstone Grammar.

I have boys and girls of varying ages, so know most of the schools in the area.

What are you after? Age/gender?

I'm after somewhere for DD who is currently in year 7, has dyspraxia and being bullied as sodding school left files somewhere they could be read by other pupils.

After somewhere not too pressurised and had thought Moyles Court could be good option. Hadn't thought we could look at her going private but a relative has offered to help out making it just about possible if needs be. Would need to make sure though that DS gets into a Grammar when the time comes, all feeling a bit complicated atm. Thought I was sorted when we moved here, either the Grammar or QE but all gone pear shaped .

What about Ballard - New Milton way?
It's got a new head, and all I am hearing is fantastic reports about it.
It is non-selective, and has a great learning support.
It only goes up to 16 - but then you've got the choice of sixth forms - such as Brockenhurst College.
There is a bus service from Ringwood etc, so if you can get to Ringwood, it's easy enough to get to the school.

Alternatively there is Bournemouth Collegiate in Southbourne. This has the old head of Ballard running it. This is a new school that replaced Wentworth and Uplands. Not hearing great reports about it. Not bad, just no one raving about it. Looked round it, wasn't enthralled by it.

Thanks very much Receiver, I've a friend with DC's at children but ruled it out due to distance. Am going to have to think long and hard about all this.

I know people with children there , although they are in the Infant department and they love it. When talking to them they have very small class sizes ie 10 and the headmaster is supposed to be brilliant. I also know they get a rather large bursary so they do offer them if needed .

Of course this is only word of mouth but what I have heard they seem to be really suited for children that need a small family environment .

We went to Moyles Court Open Day and the school was great. They have a new head who is charming, the students were all good ambassadors and so positive about the school and the grounds were amazing. They have affordable prices now so well worth a visit.
