league table look up

where can i find a list of schools in my area listed according to how good they are? i found the alphabetised one but i don't under stand it

wer in catchment for a VERY good one but thinking of moving and want to see where the schools come if u see what i mean?

I won't start the debate about whether league tables tell you much about how good a school is, but if you go the the education site on BBC News you can enter in you town and it brings up a list of schools. if you then clikc on a school, at the bottom of the page there is an option to "compare against other schools in the area", which will give you the list that you are looking for.

Bear in mind that the results here are usually the % of children who attain KS4 at 11. The information which is also interesting is what percentage attained KS5 at 11, but I think that you usually get this from the school website (I haven't seen it published centrally, but could be wrong).

if you put 'school league tables' into google you should get a link to BBC league tables. Those are the ones I look at.

Try the DFES website. It gives level 5 as well. That's where the BBC compile their info from.
