I spent £62 on this (inc. postage) (I know I know- moment of complete madness and thought it was a bargain since £160 new!)

It arrived beautifully packaged and labelled fragile so I doubt anything happened in transit, but when I plugged it in it started to light up (like a halogen does- starts to light) and then went out and hasn't worked since.

This makes me think it is a bulb problem but new bulbs are going to be £30 but if it isnt a bulb problem then I will have spent £92 on something useless! NARGH.

Also in the listing it said "not used much so the bulbs should have lots of life in them" so I will be pretty pissed off about having to buy new ones.

I have emailed the seller to try and sort this out- no response. I do now have her phone number but am wimping out of phoning her (prefer to communicate by email on stuff like this).

Shall I open a dispute in paypal?
The listing did state no refunds on this item but it sodding well wasnt as described!

(Have emailed the original manufacturers of the light and there is a possibility I may be able to take it to them for them to check whether it is the bulbs or not if they are I could get new ones but this still pisses me off since I wasnt expecting to have to do that for about another year!)

WWYD?

Ooh it seems she is going to offer full refund which is very nice of her. She says it is going to take 5-7 days for funds to clear back into her account then she can refund me. Do I still to start a dispute?

Wait seven days and if she refunds you don't. However she might appear to start one with you because if she applies to have her ebay fees refunded you will get a message saying 'we've agreed not to complete the transaction' this stops you getting a strike for not paying (which technically if she refunds you, you don't).

She refunded me about 10days later so all is now fine. Phew!
