buyer driving me mad

(41 Posts)

sold an item to honk kong last month, sent airsure tracked etc.

the parcel (according to the online tracker) arrived in early august.

buyer now sending up loads of emails telling us to check with the post office to find out what's happened to it.

We've sent the tracking no to him though he keeps telling us to ask our post office. what i don't know.

he's now opened a dispute, as far as we know the parcel arrived. he has a low score and private feedback.

any thoughts?

Hong Kong isnt covered by Paypal protection, so the buyer will win a dispute i think

southeastastra Sat 30-Aug-08 20:36:34

oh no really?

missjennipenni Sun 31-Aug-08 07:00:25

Afraid so! Paypal only cover you to certain countries under ceretain circumstances.

southeastastra Sun 31-Aug-08 14:38:03

oh great. paypal have taken the amount out whilst we have the dispute. really don't know what to do next. buyer wants me to call hk post office!

missjennipenni Sun 31-Aug-08 15:14:09

Tell them to contact their PO themselves. Though it does look like you have lost out on this one.

missjennipenni Sun 31-Aug-08 15:14:35

Have you put the tracking details in the dispute?

MatNanPlus Sun 31-Aug-08 15:16:07

Was it valuable?

Sounds like a con to be honest.

southeastastra Sun 31-Aug-08 15:28:58

have told him to contact the office, his english is very bad though and can hardly understand his messages.

have put tracking number on the dispute. item worth £60

we can claim off the post office, though would they let me? to them it has been delivered. we could only claim up to £36 though.

missjennipenni Sun 31-Aug-08 18:22:22

How much insurance did you get with your postage?

missjennipenni Sun 31-Aug-08 18:23:07

Sorry, didnt read your post properly. No RM wont refund you, as it has been delivered as far as they are concerned

southeastastra Sun 31-Aug-08 20:56:42

oh fgs really been stuffed

southeastastra Wed 03-Sep-08 17:28:48

any advice on what i can do next? he's escalated his claim. shall we just let paypal decide?

LongDroopyBoobyLady Wed 03-Sep-08 17:34:25

Can't you track it online for him just to get him off your back?

southeastastra Wed 03-Sep-08 17:37:06

i have as far as us and airsure and HK post (checked all online) it's there he still reckons he hasn't got it and airsure can't give us any more proof (no signature proof availble for international service).

missjennipenni Wed 03-Sep-08 22:46:26

you can refund him now if you want, paypal will refund him anyway

southeastastra Thu 04-Sep-08 14:15:27

suprisingly paypal didn't refund him and we won the dispute, but now feel bad

missjennipenni Thu 04-Sep-08 16:51:48

Did they accept Hong Kong tracking? I didnt know Hong Kong was covered! Good for you, especially if he did indeed get his parcel!

southeastastra Thu 04-Sep-08 17:21:25

yes they accepted it. i sent tracking number and copies of the delivery receipt to paypal.

buyer is still bugging us, saying we could track it more for him, but we simply can't do anymore.

really in a quandry with this one. would refund him if we genuinely thought he hadn't received it.

missjennipenni Thu 04-Sep-08 18:06:12

he cant open up any more disputes. its up to him to now find out where it went.

southeastastra Thu 04-Sep-08 18:22:12

i've asked him again and again to check on his side and with his neighbours etc, but he just ignores the question. he insists i still check this end. it's driving me barmy.

i'm tempted to ask him why his feedback is private, does that seem rude to ask?

(sorry to go on about this)

Link or item # please sea

might be able to help

FlightAttendent Thu 04-Sep-08 18:28:05

Am not surprised paypal sided with you tbh

you provided online tracking

that's all they need

proof you sent and it was delivered.
Good job you got tracking. well done smile

It is not your problem as you have done everything in your power. Seriously don't even entertain the thought of refunding the guy.
His fb is prob private for a reason...most people who have private fb are crooks. Not all but a lot...

southeastastra Thu 04-Sep-08 18:33:02

he only has a score of 38 too, he just keeps on mailing me

FlightAttendent Thu 04-Sep-08 18:34:39

Ignore, ignore, ignore. Hard when you are a good hearted person but you can't do anything to help.

if you can link or give his id I can have a root around wink
