Been totally ripped off!! My amazing e3 i've bought off ebay is not that. It is absolutely filthy i can't work out how to get the covers off to clean the damn thing. I am so upset and mad. I've paid cash and collected the blooming thing haven't a clue where I stand. Theres no way I would put luka in this. I feel sick, I keep my pushchairs so clean and this isn't. I don't know what to do. She is a new seller i've noticed that she bought a brand new phil and teds on her feedback, so I suspect she's bought this and is now selling on as she was also dissappointed.

Heres the listing...she said it had fading which is fair enough, but to describe as near perfect, it certainly isn't!!

it doesnt look filthy in the pics ,her feedbck is 100% and you did collect it so you had chance to voice it then, maybe you should mail her? perhaps someone on here can advise on the removal of the covers.

it seems lot of money for second hnd pram tbh.

sorry your so upset

i must say also it doesnt look filthy in pics and would you not of noticed when picking it up that it wasnt clean

i hope you can sort it out but beings you had opportunity to inspect item on collection i see the seller as having done nothing wrong as if not in condition you expected you could of said so then and left it

from pics it looks lovely just alot of money

I know thats what irritates me, we were in her tiny hallway looking at it, I shouldn't have gone today as don't feel well myself had a bit of a nightmare journey getting there. I know I should have inspected it fully, so its my fault. It does look lovely in the pics, its just not like that in person so I will just have to sell on and live and learn. I keep all my buggies immaculate I think my standards are too high! It just irritates me when people put things like 'near perfect' when it bloody well isn't! I know I can sell it on, but I would have to clean it and I will be completely honest, it has faded but unevenly and so I will put this on my listing.

Have you contacted her and told her that you are unhappy with the condition of the pram?

Was really expensive IMO!

Yes I have, i just feel misled by her, im sure she bought it, then was disappointed as why buy a bnib phil and teds two days ago(checked her feedback) Then stand in her own home and say, 'oh its been a lovely pushchair, will be really sad to see it go but we just don't need it anymore' I know there is a small chance that she has bought this brand new one for someone else but ive got my doubts.

nicola i think you should contact her tbh its too much money too put down to experience and if her listing was inccurate that goes against ebay rules.

Could you make a complaint to ebay?

Realistically though as you paid cash and picked it up yourself you probably have little comeback other than by appealing to this ladies sense of fairness (or would she make a second chance offer to the bidder who just lost out , and refund you the difference? You would have lost a few pounds, but that sounds like it might be better than the situation you are in at the moment.

I cannot believe that if it differs that much from the item listing you have not yet contacted the seller

cleaning info doesn't say you can get the covers off but I'm sure you can

Report
misdee · 24/08/2008 15:40

to get the covers off you need to remove the handle bar. feel down it through the fabric for two buttons to push in. do this and remove the handle bar. then pull the covers down slightly to release them at the bottom ,then slide off.

It was a red P&T that the seller bought last week that was brand new.

nicolamumof3 · 24/08/2008 15:57

yes I know, I just thought it was strange that she bought a brand new one, but told me she doesn't need a pushchair anymore thats why was selling it. oh well just got to clean it up and sell it on.

Just phone her up and tell her you are unhappy with it and why. Or clean it up and keep it, which is why you wanted it in the first place.

nicolamumof3 · 24/08/2008 16:02

I've emailed her already, I think I will clean it up and sell it on. Sorry to go on. I just feel so disappointed I just realised that all the pushchairs i've sold probably sold far too cheaply as they really are like new!

It's OK. We all live and learn. At least you won't have someone emailing you about the cleanliness of your buggies.

There are 2 types of fitting for the covers of the e3. To remove the footwell/basket on the older style there was a zip between the footwell and the basket and both parts had poppers onto the frame. The newer version is an all in one footwell and basket and is poppered onto the frame (with little webbing straps that wrap around the frame).
The mainseat will either have poppers onto the frame or the newer version held onto the frame by screws (so you need to unscrew it to get it off!).
Can't remember how the hood comes off - but it's poppers and manipulation rather than screws if that helps.

It does look ok in the photos - although I'm selling one at the moment (which you know!) and I think mine has less wear on the fabric.

Nicola - I've looked at the listing and it looks pretty honest to me, not like someone was trying to get one over iyswim. Can you tell us exactly what it is that is wrong with it - is it just dirt, generally?

If so it will wash Ok I think. The only line in the listing that really seems way out is that it is 'near perfect' which is obviously nowhere near the truth - however later on she lists the faults in quite a lot of detail.

Have you had a reply from her yet? Maybe she would be ahppy to second chance it to the next bidder, if you returned it to her? After all she can't leave you bad feedback and you can really damage her rating if you do. Not saying threaten her but she'll be aware of this.

Chapstickchick, 100% when you have two transactions to your name is not an awfully good reference!!

FlightAttendent · 24/08/2008 16:40

She isn't going to want a 66% feedback rating I don't think
