is she taking the mick?
(26 Posts)I sold a silk top a month ago. I admit on the listing i made a mistake and said it could be machine washed. Some silks can be machine washed where others cant. I simply forgot to change after the last listing.
The woman recieved it and said i had washed it and it looked like shit which i swear it didnt. And i had never machine washed it.
So now a month has gone by and i know recieve an email saying she has taken it to a dry cleaners who have told her it has been machine washed ( i stand in a court of law to swear it hasn't) and she has said she is returning it and wants a full refund!
The neg feedback also said how disgusting i was charging 2.00 p&p. When she had brought a silk dress a week before and paid 3.50 p&p and left positive feedback.
She bnever asked for a refund whe she got the top just went and left neg feedback. If she had asked at the time i would have happily refunded as i made a mistake in listing. But a month on im not prepared to.
For all i know she has worn the top to a social event she needed to then machine washed it to mess it up to send it back to me.
I dont feel im wrong here to not refund.
Am i?
If she has already left negative feedback I would not be giving her a refund, no. She has burnt her bridges - she has no hold over you and as you say it sounds like she has messed up the top herself.
You are right, if she wanted a refund she should have asked at the time she received it and she should have already sent it back to you.
Tell her to go jump!
She should have asked for a refund at the time she recieved it if she was that unhappy with it - a month down the line is just daft
As she's already left you a neg she can't do anything more to you!
Oh she is now emailing.
1st- was she will go to ebay- told her im more than happy for her to open a dispute.
2nd - i have sent ebay all your emails and posted them so all your customers can see them.
Stupid woman i fear is going to be a pita!
There was nothing wrong with the top it was stunning and she got it for 4.20 and 2.00 p&p.
I will just let her email and ignore.
Tell her you will report her to ebay yourself - surely there is some means of dealing with unscrupulous buyers now that sellers can't give them a negative?
Call her bluff and tell her people like her give ebay a bad name, you won't respond to blackmail and leave it at that.
The things people will do just for the sake of a few pounds.
she's taking the piss.
don't give her FA.
take all your money out of PayPal.
delete your Ebay membership.
it's gone to shit these days.
Hasn't it just.
Stoopid woman - just completely ignore her - or reply with just a smiley face, that'll piss her off no end
If she paid by paypal, she may get a refund though, so beware
that's why i suggested pulling all monies out of PayPal and cancelling both that and Ebay.
it's seriously gone down the pan around there.
Even if you withdraw, she will get refunded, you go into negative balance with Paypal, and they send it on to a debt collection agency
I wouldn't refund her, but if she persaveres and end up £6.20, so be it. you've got negative feeback already, so that's the worst that can happen.
Horrid woman.
its great isn't it...not.
i dont think paypal would refund her. Not a month after the sale surely?
no way
What a mad bird
she has 45 days to open a paypal dispute. they will tell her to return the top and she will get a refund.
Though, if she doesnt send it recorded delivery, paypal wont have proof that she sent it back..... (if you want to play dirty like the buyer lol)
She says she has sent in back according to her email this morning. So i will have to wait and see.
If she gets a refund its bull! Bad enough i cant leave neg feedback for bad buyers.
Expat is right ebay has gone totally down the pan.
PayPal seriously fucks over sellers, adn then Ebay forces some sellers to accept PayPal.
Will you refund her yourself? or wait for paypal to do it?
i will fight her through ebay.
if she opens a paypal dispute, calmly stick to the facts and you may win.
I did recently. The buyer rambled on and on including bits about being a busy mum (oh and I'm not?) all totally irrelevant, and I reckon paypal just couldn't be bothered reading through her ramble and they found in my favour.
lol nice to nice they dont just always side with the buyer.
If the top was so crap why hasnt she returned before now will be my arguement.
So far she has neither returned the top nor opened a dispute.
There was nothing wrong with the top. I sell alot and i have a lot of repeat customers because my clothes are that good but incredibly cheap too. I dont ask new prices for used clothes.
They dont always side with the buyer, not in an "item not described" dispute anyway, so you might be lucky!
If you can, stall her from opening a dispute until day 45, then she cant!
If she opens a dispute i dont think she will have much of a chance mainly cause she left it so long before she even contacted you properly for a refund- if she was serious she would of done it the 1st time.
So many people try it on nowadays and pay pal/ebay know that too.
I worked in a clothes shop and girls would buy a dress on fri and try bringing it back sat (after theyd worn it out! stinking of fags!) saying it didnt fit and would swear blind it hadnt been worn. Some people are just really cheeky.
Do you have a returns policy? I think ebay like it if you do so you can say she had a window to post it back with no quibble and she didn't. If she hasn't actually started a dispute thru ebay or paypal but is harassing you then she's probably chancing her mitt.
Cheeky mare.
This new feedback policy is really strting to piss me off. What happened to the escrow idea- you know where both parties submit feedback and it only gets published when they are both in? Its better than being at the mercy of twats like this.
