I bought a bundle of baby clothes on ebay. Postage was £12 but they lived less than 5 miles from my house. I emailed them a few days before end to see if i could pick up the bundle. They said yes no problem as long as after 5pm, or at weekend.

In the end i won the bundle for 99p and then recieved an email saying that i couldnt pick up anymore because they didnt want any stranger at their house. Said their oh replied first time by mistake.

So i paid the 12 postage and packaging.. plus 99p.

A man just dropped it off in the car at my house..
now is it just me or is that a bit cheeky?? I could have walked to their house for it! They said that i could pick up, changed their mind fair enough! But i expected it to be posted, like royam mail posted.
They also said they were only free after five.. but THIS MUCH after five is taking the pee a bit i think.

very cheeky. email them saying you are upset that they have effectively charged you £12 for petrol and if you get no joy contact ebay.

It all smells smokey and damp too. :|

JonahTakalua Sat 16-Aug-08 22:32:15

return it all and ask for a full refund.

LittleMissNorty Sat 16-Aug-08 22:32:24

What a cheek....I would be angryangry

You can leave neg feedback (they can't).

I would also complain to e-bay and paypal.

Ambi Sat 16-Aug-08 22:33:08

yes, very cheeky.

hollyandnoah Sat 16-Aug-08 22:33:27

I've just sent an email the now.

crokky Sat 16-Aug-08 22:34:09

LittleMissNorty - I agree with your sentiment, but the seller knows where hollyandnoah lives and is very nearby. Personally, I would not do anything, even though they have behaved badly.

nappyaddict Sat 16-Aug-08 22:34:36

when it said £12 postage did it say royal mail parcel or seller's standard rate? if it said royal mail you can complain but if not i don't know if you will be able to.

crokky Sat 16-Aug-08 22:37:05

holly, we are replying on both threads grin

nicolamumof3 Sat 16-Aug-08 22:37:06

I would check their returns policy for sure. horrible when clothes especially for children arrive like that. I know you just wash them, but still not nice. i replied on thread in 'for free' too!! lol grin

lucysmam Sat 16-Aug-08 22:37:21

£12 is a bit extreme for petrol for a trip up the road imo, VERY cheeky n i would complain about it & expect at least the £12 you paid for postage to be refunded since they didn't actually 'post' them

BigBadMousey Sat 16-Aug-08 22:38:23

Thieving swines! What is wrong with some people? £12 postage seems rather a lot anyway - was it an incredibly huge bundle of clothes? I bet that is why they had no bids other than yours.

hollyandnoah Sat 16-Aug-08 22:42:41

Yeh it probably was why! but i only bidded cause they said i could pick it up.

ahh what is happening to ebay btw!?

Last week i bought a filthy broken buggy and seller says it was perfect and wont refund :| Ebay are dealing with it but i'm not gonna hold my breath!

it will save me a fortune i spose lol!

nicolamumof3 Sat 16-Aug-08 22:44:01

holly what size are you buying? you could have had my next bundle for £12 xx

hollyandnoah Sat 16-Aug-08 23:00:29

lilyloo Sat 16-Aug-08 23:04:06

holly buy from here ebay a right rip off lately!

nicolamumof3 Sat 16-Aug-08 23:04:30

thats a shame the last one i've sorted out and put into a 'next only' bundle is 6-9m.

nappyaddict Sat 16-Aug-08 23:12:45

that's a shame. i've just sold a bundle of 9-12 months today and had to let it go for less than i wanted. people just seem to want everything for nothing at the minute

oooohhhh Sat 16-Aug-08 23:20:38

can i just say if you buy off NA make sure you get the goods first!!!

Just after reading some stuff about her and thewiltedrose and their money making threads i'd just thought i'd warn you.
