Anyone bought newborn baby bundles from Ebay? How did they turn out, need girls stuff...

I bought a couple first time round -- but only those with nice clear photos of everything. It was fine - some good stuff, although obviously not everything I'd have bought myself.

I bought all DS's stuff on ebay -it was great even though he's out of most of it at 9 weeks and I've now passed it on to a friend of a friend/.

Def. recommend but as PAL says, stick to names you know and lots of photos!

I'm about to put my girls stuff on the in bundles ranging from newborn to 12 months ...

I was actually going to ask what people as buyers found preferable -

a bundle of say 20 items of 'better' brand names eg next

a bundle of say 30 items including cheaper brands eg tesco

a bundle of say 40 items that includes 10 with small marks

I'd prefer the 30 items, probably. I don't really want stuff with marks (I did find that several of the bundles I bought had extra garments with marks thrown in for free with a note from the seller, and that was nice because it seemed like getting something for nothing, but I probably wouldn't have bid on bundles with marked items in. I am aware that this is completely illogical...

I go for nice clear photos and accurate articulate descriptions - I don't rate Next stuff over Tesco or care at all about labels tbh.
I also lean towards sellers without pink sparkly text, spelling errors, extraneous exclamation marks or txtspk, and this has served me well thus far.

Throwing marked items, slightly-bobbled tights etc in for free seems common and as P&L says feels better than thinking you've paid money for something stained.

Seasonality is also vital when I buy bundles - an 'Autumn / Winter 0-6m girl bundle' will attract me more than one that makes a big thing of being full of 'better' brands.

Yes I would do this if I had needed to but I found freecycle first! I got offered loads of things when I posted a 'wanted' for baby clothes - people can be very generous. I got all my maternity clothes that way too.

As an aside, I have noticed that next sleepsuits wear better than sainsburys own - the sainsbury ones all bobbled within a few uses.

I don't think anything on ebay that comprises just 0-3m sleepsuits etc goes for very much at all - the BINs seemed rather optomistic when I was looking (compared to final prices of auction lots)

Some of my favourite sleepsuits for DD were Sainsbury's (TU) ones that I got secondhand, though they are still in really good condition after being through (presumably) two babies. I didn't tumbledry, though perhaps that makes a difference?

Newborn stuff (and up to 12 months, I think) doesn't seem to go for much at all, really -- I suppose a lot of parents either want to buy everything new / get given everything new / get given hand-me-downs for free without having to look at eBay. I bought a few individual things / small lots for DD to supplement what she was inheriting from DS and was surprised at how many items attracted no other bids at all and went for their starting price.

How weird! Maybe I have a bad batch - no tumble drying here - he doesn't even sleep on his back much but they are really bobbly at the back. Nice patterns though and DS doesn't seem to mind the bobbles.

I agree that most stuff seems to go on the maiden bid.

I have bought & sold bundles of baby clothes & have always been pleased with what I recieved

When I sell bundles I tend to chuck in a few extra bits that I have found after I listed too - every little helps as they say

Go for listings that have lots of photos & good descriptions

I would go round my local charity shops first myself. After all, that's what most of the sellers of bundles have done!

If it's the basic baby stuff you're after - sleepy suits etc I would really recommend George stuff if there's an Asda near you.

DS (now 5) has practically lived in their stuff - their babyware ( massive overuse of the word "stuff" ) lovely and excellently priced - sometimes even reduce prices further. Probably cheaper to have a couple of trips there than Ebay (considering P+P on top) and some charity shops have a habit of overpricing small baby stuff the vests etc.

As he's got bigger I have found the odd bargain for him in charity shops and Ebay - Next jeans etc

Yep, I've bought all DDs stuff as bundles of ebay. A few rules I go off:
-check out the piccies
-don't spend more than a tenner inc. postage

I'm not too bothered about brands but I've got loads of beautiful clothes now, some I wouldn't have even looked twice at on the rail but look lovely on her. I've found it difficult to sell on ebay though as the competition is fierce so I'm saving it up for No2.

Might sound a little sad, but I used to buy clothes for my reborn doll, and they were always mint condition, I'd definately consider putting them on a real baby lol

Litterbug- i've got a bundle of newborn girls clothes that i was going to sell on ebay but haven't got round to it yet (DD2 3 months old- not alot of time!).

I could take some pictures and upload them on photobucket if you want- would save me fannying around. All decent stuff and loads of unworn stuff.
