thsi one

heronsfly Sat 19-Jul-08 09:18:19

I would,
Its his money and either he will be chuffed to bits with it and think its well worth the money,or he will regret it the next day and want something else,in that case he has learnt a valuable lesson.
If he compleats the collection, keep them when he tires of it,I cant believe how much collections selling for, when I have happily out them in the bin in the past.

sorry, he's not got this one ,but he has just informed me his friend ella has, grin so these sell on ebay, how do you know if they are rare or not ds1 pile gathering dust in his bedroom ?

FAQ Sat 19-Jul-08 09:21:30

I would - but I doubt it's going to stay at £20 grin

ladytophamhatt Sat 19-Jul-08 09:23:38

I told him we'll go to £25....but he's out atm so I'm not sure if I should "forget" or something.

He has a tendency to be easily swayed and will end up giving to to someone for free....

ladytophamhatt Sat 19-Jul-08 09:24:58

hatrick heros and man of teh matches seem to sell best, not for 20 quid but a few ££ each.

FAQ Sat 19-Jul-08 09:25:27

well that would be his lesson learnt - he wouldn't have his card - and he wouldn't have his £20 to buy something else either.

I would let my DS1 (also 7 - although admittedly nearly 8) buy it if he really wanted to.

WendyWeber Sat 19-Jul-08 09:25:37

I was wondering too how you know it's rare, LTH? Seller might be exaggerating?

ladytophamhatt Sat 19-Jul-08 09:27:13

he knew it was rare as soon as he saw it wendy.

I have no clue though....

FAQ Sat 19-Jul-08 09:27:45

I've just a "completed listings" for that card - and they do seem to sell for quite a bit - certainly over £20

FAQ Sat 19-Jul-08 09:28:16

don't know if this link will work

ladytophamhatt Sat 19-Jul-08 09:32:23

£22.56....seems a bargain looking at you rlink FAQ

he'll be well chuffed

FAQ Sat 19-Jul-08 09:33:22

haha - I saw someone bid last few seconds for it and wondered if it was you.;

Does seem like a good price having looked at the others that have completed

Hope he's happy with it grin

ladytophamhatt Sat 19-Jul-08 09:38:52

I always bid with 43 seconds left.
Not 44.
Not 42

It has to be 43.

and I win 99.9999999999% of the item I bid on.

I am an Ebay genius.

WideWebWitch Sat 19-Jul-08 09:50:08

I would

WideWebWitch Sat 19-Jul-08 09:51:38

ds has rare match attax and yu gi oh and pokemon cards, some cost £20 odd (they were Christmas or bday presents). I keep telling him I can't wait until he loses interest as I intend flogging them all.

lubyluby Sat 19-Jul-08 09:52:25

no way! a bit late nowa s bidding finsihed, but my ds's collected the match atatck cars then each season they end up in the bin as a new lot id released and so it starts again. they also swap and give them away so no way would i let him spend £20 on one card.

my ds' are 6 and 11 by the way.

ladytophamhatt Thu 24-Jul-08 21:46:12

The card is back on Ebay.

He's realised its a awful lot of money for a card.

I hope it sells....
