eBay

Would you retract a bid under these circumstances?

I won a highchair on Ebay a week ago. It was local so sent an e-mail to say I would pay at the time of pick-up. Heard nothing, so sent another e-mail. Heard nothing, so requested seller's details and have left two voicemail messages with no reply.

Part of me wants to wait a little longer just in case they are away, but another part of me thinks 'Well, they have had a week to come back to me and I have heard nowt'. DH says that even if they are on holiday, they should not have put something on Ebay if they would not be around to carry out the transaction. Also, it is there first item they have had up for sale, so maybe they have forgotten or something.

Any advice would be welcome

Thanks

maybe give it a little longer but tbh it doesn't sound hopeful.

even tho you don't require a refund I'd mention in communication that you will be left with no choice to file a dispute (if they are new this may spur them on)

was there an address on the invoice?

just leave it a day or 2 then open a dispute

Thanks. I shall leave it a few days. Hopefully the situation will change as it was a nice highchair and very local to me

Just to say i had a similar situation with a pram i bought on ebay....buyer asked for prompt payment and i paid same day...then i didnt receive anything in the post....when i did get an email a week or so later turns out that the FIL had been taken v ill so they had had to go away suddenly and obviously ebay was not on list of things to think about.

Basically all was fine in the end so it could be they are genuinely away.

Have you paid yet?
