PayPal refunds without notifying me

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had experienced this or had any advice!

I started selling on eBay a few months ago and a last night I was going through PayPal looking at the refunds I had given. There were around 5 refunds that I hadn’t authorised, and when I checked on eBay, I had been given positive feedback by the buyers.

What’s the explanation for this? Have they told PayPal they’re not happy and been refunded? I thought I would have been notified/a case been opened for us to dispute. Not just a refund without telling me.

I know this is basic, but have you checked your eBay messages? I find they’re not always great at pushing through notifications or emailing.

Yes I searched by username in my inbox to see if they had contacted me but no contact other to confirm they had received the item

I think that’s really odd then, and are they full refunds each time, not just partial for postage issues or something? I’d get onto eBay live chat support and ask (they’re not the best, in my experience, but they should be able to tell you what’s happened)

Do the buyers have plenty of feedback generally? Just wondering if it’s some weird scam.

Full refunds yes

The buyers all have plenty of feedback - all in the hundreds except for 1.

I’m just puzzled why PayPal would refund without there being a dispute
