I get confused about all the different ways to post large things and have lost money before getting postage really wrong on heavy items! What would you recommend for best/economical way to post 4kg square-ish item?? Thanks.

We use Hermes for 2-5 kg parcels. Costs about £5.50 if you buy via ebay. Although they have a not very good reputation if you believe the threads on here we find them as reliable as any other courier including Royal Mail. Charge more though as ebay charges a fee on postage as for the sale price of the item. Over 5 kg then USP becomes the cheapest option (again only if you purchase through ebay). Bear in mind there is also a size restriction on items so check it fits into these before posting.

Visit the parcel monkey website. If you enter the dimensions and destination, it will tell you the cheapest options.
