What feedback would you give?

I won a bid on an item in 28th March. It was meant to be delivered by 3rd April.

The seller emailed me today to say that they have been ill and are just getting around to posting the item today.

I've looked at their feedback history and others have complained at the slow delivery and left negative or neutral feedback. So, it seems like a regular occurrence.

Assuming the item arrives in the next few days and is as described, how would you rate this seller?

Personally I wouldn't leave any feedback. Yes it's late but the seller got in touch to let you know, it's not really the end of the world. But it's up to you.

Thank you. I don't use eBay that much so I'm really not sure about reviews.

I'd leave neutral, to be honest. I bought an item (or rather my 7 year old did - it was his money) on Thursday and it was just posted today. expected delivery was yesterday or today.

I'd leave neutral too. If the seller had contacted you straight away or within a couple of days to let you know to expect a delay, no problem. But getting in touch after a whole is taking the piss a bit in my opinion, particularly if, as you say, they seem to have form.

I bought an item that was needed for Christmas. The seller contacted me on the day it should have arrived to say she had just gone to pack it up and it was broken so refunded me.

I had to scrabble around to find another item that I could get in time and was not amused.

I then discovered that her daughter is involved in some kind of fundraising and has an illness. You never know the circumstances and some people have a life that is more important than posting items quickly.

I struggle sometimes to get mine packed and in the post, there are people much worse off than me but I find it very difficult. We have been conditioned to expect immediate arrival of items. I remember the days when post took much, much longer. Sometimes we need to be patient, and communication is the key.

Has it arrived now? Is it fine just arrived late? Do you want to buy from them again or would you rather avoid? I would only give a Neg if I wanted to avoid them again.
