eBay

Buyer used item and now wants to return it

Briefly, I sold a high-end beauty product. It was factory sealed and genuine, not only had an expiry date but also a date when it was made (Oct 2016).

My buyer now says she's opened it and used it, but thinks it smells funny so now she wants to send it back. It's no good to me used, so I have refused the return (listing stated no returns).

What does everyone think? Is eBay going to make me refund her?

Yes they will.
Sorry.
Happened to me with perfume (unwanted gift).
Total scam, utter waste and put me off eBay.

Yeah I figured as much. Been selling for years but this is the first time someone's actually opened something and then tried to return.

Of course it's possible she's right and there's something wrong with it, which is what eBay will say, but the likelihood is so remote....it just pisses me off, I can't resell it and now it's been used by someone else I don't really want to use it myself either Angry
