eBay

Buyers not leaving feedback

Does this happen a lot to other people? I've sold a few things on eBay recently and hardly anyone leaves me feedback any more. It is quite frustrating when you want to build up a good feedback profile to encourage future buyers.

Yes, only 30-40% of buyers leave feedback.

No one has to leave it. The figures are the same for everyone so i wouldn't worry about it.

Whatever you do, don't send messages asking buyers to leave it. There's nothing worse and you will actually put them off leaving it.

I agree about not nagging buyers, it is annoying when they don't leaving feedback though but then I think as long as they're not complaining, that's the main thing. If I buy things on Ebay and the seller doesn't leave me feedback I will message them for sure.

I think it's been worse in the last year or so, when the layout of the mobile app changed. The old version was much more user-friendly & it seemed to prompt users to leave feedback more.

Hopefully Ebay takes note from their own forums about this matter.

I never leave feedback any more, nor look at it. What is it supposed to be useful for?

These days I buy more on Amazon and less on eBay (have only bought 2 eBay items in last 6 months apparently), so I forget to leave feedback. I don't mind a reminder.

Scottishprof - it helps you decide whether you can trust the seller, especially as many are private individuals rather than businesses.

I've never messaged anyone to ask them to leave feedback but did put a post-it note on the last thing I sold to ask if they could leave feedback. I sometimes get emails from Amazon marketplace sellers asking for feedback.

I'm sure I used to get more feedback so I think eBay have made it harder to do or less obvious.
