I am really trying to think of a sensible reply to this but I can't.

She's not exactly giving it away, is she? £5 starting bid and another fiver for the postage...

why illegal?

Blimey

I know you can have breastmilk donors - they donate milk to very sick babies in SCBU but they are vetted - this is just odd! I wonder if anyone buys it

Report
fishie · 27/01/2007 20:38

why is it illegal? odd, but not criminal surely??

Words can't describe
Now I have no problem with properly screened milk via a milk bank or even the concept of wet nursing where you know the person extremely well.
But selling your milk???? Horrid. Why doesn't she just give this lot to the milk bank too.
Will people be selling their blood too?

a lot of people swear by the benefits of breastmilk. i know of one bloke who regularly drank breast milk dueing his cancer treatment, but he had problems getting it.

Notquitesotiredmum · 27/01/2007 20:39

I know that it has to be screened before it can be used - HIV can pass through breastmilk, after all. V strange

morningpaper · 27/01/2007 20:39

I'm sure it is illegal to sell any body fluids or body parts in the UK

Gingerbear · 27/01/2007 20:40

Now, if it were breastmilk soap maybe there would be a few more bids?

Report
gingermonkey · 27/01/2007 20:40

I think I am going to vomit - why the f*&k would anyone buy that, and just take her word for it that it is disease free. It could be anything! UGH!

However, what I would also like to know is what exactly were you doing searching for breast milk on ebay, mumfor1standfinaltime

£10 for 125 ml of frozen breastmilk

if she gives it to the SCBU,why charge for it on ebay , how

Report
Spidermama · 27/01/2007 20:42

Still no bids as yet.

Wouldn't you have to be a bit odd to take it on trust from some unknown ebay seller and feed it to your baby?

misdee · 27/01/2007 20:43

spidermama, i dont think this is for babies.....
