I am really trying to think of a sensible reply to this but I can't.

She's not exactly giving it away, is she? £5 starting bid and another fiver for the postage...

southeastastra Sat 27-Jan-07 20:36:18

why illegal?

Hillary Sat 27-Jan-07 20:37:47

Blimey

I know you can have breastmilk donors - they donate milk to very sick babies in SCBU but they are vetted - this is just odd! I wonder if anyone buys it

fishie Sat 27-Jan-07 20:38:18

why is it illegal? odd, but not criminal surely??

pooka Sat 27-Jan-07 20:38:31

Words can't describe
Now I have no problem with properly screened milk via a milk bank or even the concept of wet nursing where you know the person extremely well.
But selling your milk???? Horrid. Why doesn't she just give this lot to the milk bank too.
Will people be selling their blood too?

misdee Sat 27-Jan-07 20:39:09

a lot of people swear by the benefits of breastmilk. i know of one bloke who regularly drank breast milk dueing his cancer treatment, but he had problems getting it.

Notquitesotiredmum Sat 27-Jan-07 20:39:37

I know that it has to be screened before it can be used - HIV can pass through breastmilk, after all. V strange

morningpaper Sat 27-Jan-07 20:39:49

I'm sure it is illegal to sell any body fluids or body parts in the UK

Gingerbear Sat 27-Jan-07 20:40:01

Now, if it were breastmilk soap maybe there would be a few more bids?

gingermonkey Sat 27-Jan-07 20:40:47

I think I am going to vomit - why the f*&k would anyone buy that, and just take her word for it that it is disease free. It could be anything! UGH!

However, what I would also like to know is what exactly were you doing searching for breast milk on ebay, mumfor1standfinaltime

Hillary Sat 27-Jan-07 20:40:52

Pooka I'v heard of people selling their blood on the internet, theres a group of people called the human vampires or something where they drink other peoples blood.........this is a wierd world

Gingerbear Sat 27-Jan-07 20:40:57

what about sperm donors mp? don't they get paid?

Or have I watched too many US soap operas?

pinkbubble Sat 27-Jan-07 20:42:01

It must be true then- You can sell anything on EBay(wonder if the Mum is really hard up and needs money!!)

lulumama Sat 27-Jan-07 20:42:29

£10 for 125 ml of frozen breastmilk

if she gives it to the SCBU,why charge for it on ebay , how

Spidermama Sat 27-Jan-07 20:42:37

Still no bids as yet.

Wouldn't you have to be a bit odd to take it on trust from some unknown ebay seller and feed it to your baby?

misdee Sat 27-Jan-07 20:43:26

spidermama, i dont think this is for babies.....

southeastastra Sat 27-Jan-07 20:43:35

no-one has asked any questions either

Hillary Sat 27-Jan-07 20:48:26

The photo of the bottle looks like its got a teat on it! I wonder if her baby couldn't drink anymore
