I sold something for collection only.
Buyer didn't bother to arrange a time to collect and showed up when I was out.
Got very stroppy I had wasted her time and money as she doesn't live near me so it had cost her to come collect and then I wasn't in.
I explained I didn't know she was coming and if I had known I would have told her I was going to be out for the whole day.

Anyway, now she has informed me that her friend is coming to collect it and has passed my number and address to them and they will contact me to collect.

I feel a little iffy about this.
I feel in principle that whoever collects it doesn't really matter as long as the buyer accepts responsibility for whatever happens.
I'm just worried that it's going to cause problems if they then say not as described, or bits are missing etc.
I said I'll only take cash.

As long as they pay cash it shouldn't matter. If they say not as described through ebay you just say you will refund on return. They have to then prove they have sent item back.

If you're getting the proper amount in cash you're fine. If you receive messages prompting you to respond be brief, polite, and factual.

ijustwannadance as long as the OP accepts cash upon collection, she doesn't have to accept a return through eBay, if the buyer claims it's not described. EBay won't get involved. The buyer ca open a case, but it will be for communication purposes only.

Once they had over the cash and you give them the items it does not really matter what happens after that.
