Sellers Beware !!

I sold a maxi dress recently for a decent amount BNWT I had bought it off ebay but it didn't fit me when it arrived so decided to sell it on,there was a lot of interest as it is a sort after brand,I send all my post tracked so I knew when it arrived,
Three days after arrival I received an email to say "why have you sent a dress with holes in it" ??
I was totally shocked as I lay all dresses I ever sell flat on my bed and fold into tissue paper prior to putting in the posting bag and I would have seen any damage also I had tried this dress on in front of other people and they would have noticed any damage.
I did agree for a return as there was no way I could dispute the case with ebay and now the dress arrived back it is obvious it has been worn and the holes are from heels going through the hemline when worn,they never even folded the dress for dispatch just piled it into a bag,how dishonest is that !! I also have had to refund the postage so I am not the happiest seller on the boards at the minute.So beware ladies as from now on I am going to photograph everything as I wrap but would that help in a case like this.?

My personal feeling is that Ebay doesn't offer any seller protection anymore.
I've dwindled down the stuff I sell on eBay now and it's pretty much just kids stuff cos it is such a headache.

Dodgy dishonest people do dodgy dishonest things. Simple life fact.

I had a lengthy argument with a woman a year or so ago who bought an outfit (babies) that I had described as worn.
When it arrived she wasn't happy that it looked worn so she asked for a partial refund. My stance is either return it for full refund or keep it.
She argued and argued saying I was cruel, dishonest and I had ruined her pregnancy!
She opened a case with eBay for not as described and requested they force a partial refund. ebay told her to return the whole package for a full refund and guess what...
Never heard from her again!!

I've stopped selling on eBay too.
I
used to sell an awful lot of stuff on there, but I had too many of the experience you described. It just stopped being worth the stress.

Thanks for your comments they are most welcome,I am convinced she has done this to wear the dress for a night and then return it but I am not a dress agency offering rentals for the night !! I would have refunded anyway even if worn but I just can't get my head around the damage caused it is impossible to resell the dress now even as used.

Unfortunately there are a few fraudsters on eBay and that's a risk you take when you sell something on there. The majority of buyers are honest but sadly you do get the odd one.

All I can advise to protect your self is make sure you take plenty of photos of the item, especially clothing. You have 12 photos so use them, that way the buyer will be less likely to claim false damage.

In this case all you can do once the buyer has been refunded is block the buyer and move on.

Ahh, the using ebay to hire clothes for free scam. I'm so glad I don't sell clothes.
