You live and die by feedback on EBay so wtf won't people leave it?! I always do. I don't sell often but when I do I am a good seller but people just can't be arsed to rate you. Really annoys me!

I don't agree...... If you have a load of negatives, then fair enough (this is the only real reason that would put me off buying from a seller), but the average number of people who leave feedback is about 40%, and this is across the board, so it doesn't affect you more than any other seller!

If you want to get your number of feedbacks up, how about including a typed compliments note, thanking the buyer for their purchase, and telling them you would appreciate if they left you feedback, when they have a moment?

Is lack of F/B making it hard for you to sell, Lagoon?

because it is voluntary and nobody has to leave it. Leaving feedback doesn't make you a good buyer or seller and it is not an integral part of any transaction.

And never ask for feedback - guaranteed to annoy someone if you do that.

Ok I thought feedback was important. I think it is good manners to leave it. I always do.

No - it is nothing to do with manners. Lots of people never leave any - and that is absolutely fine. Demanding or expecting it is just wrong.

When Ebay was first set up F/B was very important. But it's not now, 10 + yrs later. F/B is just one of many ways to tell the person is safe to buy from. The only way to tell if someone is not safe to sell to is after the fact, when they've been banned.

If a buyer doesn't leave FB after a certain period of time, eBay counts it as a successful transaction, so it really doesn't matter.

OP, I'm sure you realise that there are a lot of people on the internet who lack manners, it's really not worth getting in a tizzy over!

I'm not in a tizzy but I find it rude and irritating.

but why is it rude to not leave feedback? It is voluntary so how can you be upset if someone chooses not to leave it. Where does it say that you have to leave feedback? It is a purely personal choice isn't it?

If I am not massively happy with a transaction then I often don't bother leaving feedback,

So I would never email someone for feedback in case I don't like the feedback I receive!
