Hi, I sold my first ever item on Ebay yesterday!! Finding the whole thing quite stressful though so could do with some advice :)

I've asked the winning bidder not to pay by paypal but to pay on collection (as I've read on here that that's the safest thing to do). If she went ahead an payed on paypal would I get an email telling me? Also, I would just refund this an state again that it's cash on collection right?

She has mentioned that it will be her sister collecting. Is there anything I have to worry about with this - I was thinking maybe I should reply and say something along the lines of "that's fine for your sister to collect on your behalf, but in doing so she will be liable for inspecting the buggy and by paying cash and taking the buggy is agreeing that it meets the item description. There will be no refunds"

Am I over thinking this?!?! Having never done this, and having read lots of horror stories I'm worried :)

It is daunting when you first start selling but take a big breath and relax, you are right in thinking you would get a message to say your buyer has paid via pay-pal but with cash on collection it is best to always pay cash after full inspection I don't know about the sister being liable for the inspection but I would try and get via an email from buyer that her sisters inspection would be final, when she has paid for the buggy go to the sale and mark in the drop down list "item paid" so ebay will know the item has been collected and you have your money, things will get easier as you get more used to the procedure. xx good luck

I'd be put off by that disclaimer, would make me lecture my sister to try hard to find any defects. Better to say "Please ask your sister to look it over carefully so she knows you'll be satisfied."

Although Ebay can't force a refund no cash on collection sales, they could easily revoke your selling privileges, so best to try hard to keep buyers happy.
