Falling out of love with ebay

It started like all good love affairs - a chance meeting when I was really looking for someone else. Then followed a period of deep infatuation, interacting multiple times every day, it all felt so good - I thought I was in love with eB. He gave me some nice things, and I started to give him things back, and I made friends with his friend PayPal.

But now things have started to sour. An acquaintance I met through him has claimed something I sent hasn't arrived, and another acquaintance charged me at least 3 times more for posting something to me than they should have (I'd assumed the item was heavier than it was given the postage). Now a further acquaintance wants me to post something I've clearly stated is collection only, and obviously wants it all done without eB's knowledge - ha, as if I'm that daft.

He's tried to win me back by giving me a 10% off voucher, but I'm starting to feel tempted by my old amour Ama Zon. Or even heading out into the rain to find my old friend High Street.

Anyone got any advice?

I too have fallen out of love with ebay. He is too fickle and his acquaintances are not always the most honest of people. I too am finding myself back at the big street or at his more honest cousin a Amazon. Grin

yep send everything with proof of delivery - is the only way. It is part of the terms after all. Try Hermes or Collect +.

I still love eBay but only because of my strict Never Sell Anything policy, and a preference for BNWT (for baby stuff). Buying is easy, selling seems like a pita.

I have managed to cut selling contact mainly to a nodding acquaintance only although I do still flirt with him from time to time when it's been a while and I've allowed myself to forget how naughty he can be.

I do still buy from him but Amazon and his marketplace mate have my heart most of the time these days.
