What do I do with this buyer?

I sold a skirt on ebay last week, and sent it signed for. I received an email the other evening saying that they hadn't received the item. I wrote back and gave them the tracking number and a link to the Royal Mail page. The item had been delivered and signed for last Tuesday (the buyers signature was clearly shown and printed). The buyer replied saying that she had signed for another item on that date, but not for the skirt that I sent, and that they would have to go to the mailing centre to sort it out (!?) I have now received another email claiming they were out all day Tuesday, so couldn't have signed for it, and it must have been signed for by someone else, even though they had previously mentioned that they had received and signed for another item on that same date! Aaargh! What do I do?

add the tracking info you have to the ebay transaction and do nothing - you have proof of delivery so they will not win a not received case. You will not be forced to refund.

Very odd. Tracking covers you but they might give you bad feedback or low stars. Contact ebay if that happens. Hopefully they will just sort it out themselves and not bother you again. Add the buyer to your BBL

I've just had another email! They are saying that I need to claim for a non delivery. They have given me their mobile number. WHat are they up to?? It clearlly states on the tracking that they signed for it, and even printed their full name. Do I report them to ebay?

no you do not - please ignore. You cannot make a fraudulent claim as it shows as delivered. How much was the item btw?

have you added the tracking number to the ebay transaction yet? If so do that now

and nope, nothing to report them for. Just block and ignore.

Was it an expensive skirt? If not, I don't quite see why they would be playing games over it .

I would send one final polite reply saying "I have checked with the Post Office but, unfortunately, as the records clearly show that you signed for the item on X date at X time, they are unable to assist any further. There is therefore nothing more I can do to help you in this matter."

And as a previous poster said, eBay will not find against you because of the proof of delivery obtained (as long as you make sure to add that to the listing).

If they continue to harass you after that then, yes, certainly report them. Not sure what eBay would do, as I have never (thankfully) had to report a buyer myself but, still, continuing harassment is NOT acceptable.

The skirt sold for £35. I added the tracking number last night, but they are still persisting. I'll probably just send a final email like Santa suggested and then ignore. I suppose by providing the mobile number they are looking to harass further. Ugh. I've never had something like this happen before. How do I block them? I have a DVD set for sale at the moment and there is a bidder with only two stars who has made 10 consecutive bids - looks a bit strange. I hope it's not them using another account.

add them to your blocked bidder list, and if you think the dvd buyer is dodgy then add them too.

The fact that they say they signed for another item is nonsense! The tracking info you have is specific to the parcel that you sent which will have the Royal Mail sticker on it so what they say is completely illogical.

I would send the email as Santa suggested then ignore.
