Sold an Item on ebay for the first time and Ebay is showing as 'Processing Payment' & nothing is showing up in paypal at all confused

when i click on 'View paypal transaction' Its asking me to sign up to Paypal , my PP account is linked to my Ebay account so what is the problem ??

Also i have just noticed that the buyer is relatively new as only has one feedback .

Please help as this money is for Ds birthday presents for next week blush

Give it a bit more time. The money should show in PP soon

justaquickone Sat 09-Nov-13 00:15:49

Ok thanks .

Its saying to get my money faster to post the item (which i am doing first thing) but ive well over 40 feedback so i didnt think that Paypal put a hold on money if you had over ten feedback confused

Has it paid into the wrong email address? Check with the buyer. If it has you'll need to cancel it, get them to change it to the right address and then pay it again.

I recently bought something on eBay and for some reason the payment took ages to go through. I was told (by eBay or paypal, can't remember) that the item wouldn't be posted until the payment went through, which seemed reasonable to me.

I'd check before posting it that you are covered incase the money doesn't come through at all.

if it is paid to the wrong email address the buyer has to cancel the payment and then you need to give them the right email address to send money to direct at paypal.

Please do not post the item yet.

Oh crap I haven't had chance to check this today

I posted both of the items earlier & its still staying payment is being processed via PayPal & underneath that it says to expect payment at the end of the month , please tell me im not screwed its almost a £100 which I need for Ds' b'day on Thursday sad

Fuck fuck fuck fuck

You're not going to like to hear this - but when you are a new seller any payments you receive are held for 21 days. I also found that out the hard way rrecently!! I had a few hundred quid from selling that I couldn't touch until I passed the three week probation. It's so hard when you are counting on the money but as far as I'm aware there isn't much you can do but wait sad Sorry!

justaquickone Sat 09-Nov-13 23:30:41

As long as the buyer leaves positive feedback then I should receive my money once they send it to the correct PayPal address .
As from what I can remember from when I use to sell as long as its not a new account & you have over 10 feedback then its ok iyswim

justaquickone Sat 09-Nov-13 23:32:17

Also the payment was sent to a none existent PayPal account so I hope the buyers don't try and scam me and just cancel the payment & not bother resending

SandyDilbert Sun 10-Nov-13 07:54:51

did you send with proof of delivery & insurance?

SandyDilbert Sun 10-Nov-13 07:55:29

and have you messaged the buyer and told them to cancel the payment and given them the correct email to send the money to?

justaquickone Sun 10-Nov-13 09:11:51

Yes i sent them both first class tracked yesterday though i thankfully missed the last post .

i have asked them both to cancel and resend to correct email address though i have only heard back from one of the buyers and he is still trying to pay via the ebay confirmation email iyswim

Eurgh i feel sick with worry , how can i be so damn stupid angry

SandyDilbert Sun 10-Nov-13 09:33:30

normal recorded only insures for £20 doesn't it?

can you add the wrong email address to your paypal to accept the payment

your buyer needs to login at and hit the 'send money' tab then enter the correct email address and send money that way.

SandyDilbert Sun 10-Nov-13 09:36:02

ignore me, it covers up to £50 now doesn't it.

justaquickone Sun 10-Nov-13 09:44:29

Its an inactive email address so i cant do that , i just resurrected and old ebay account , so cant add the email to paypal .
What can i do if they just cancel payment and not resend it ??

witchremix Sun 10-Nov-13 09:50:50

Nothingsad Even if the email address is inactive, you should still be able to add it to your paypal. If the have cancelled their payments that won't help though.

justaquickone Sun 10-Nov-13 09:55:16

is their no way i can stop Royal Mail from delivering as i have the tracking numbers etc n they have not been picked up from the post office i dropped them at iyswim

justaquickone Sun 10-Nov-13 09:57:42

How do i add another email address to paypal confused

SandyDilbert Sun 10-Nov-13 10:11:00

the only thing you can do is pursue them via small claims for the money.

log into paypal and go to your account and then to profile then email - you can add an email address there but will need access to that email address to verify

I doubt the post office will give you back parcels after posting, they aren't allowed to are they?

BikeRunSki Sun 10-Nov-13 10:14:26

Once the parcels are posted the po won't give them back.

birdybear Sun 10-Nov-13 10:17:01

never never post until you have the money. surely that is common sense?

justaquickone Sun 10-Nov-13 10:21:57

My ebay account was saying payment was being processed which is why i thought i just had to put the tracking details in and then i would receive the money

SandyDilbert Sun 10-Nov-13 10:35:22

have you any other listings with the wrong email address on them? - if so you need to amend them now

sadly recorded post is not always reliable, I find about half of the time posties don't bother to get a signature so you may never have proof of delivery.

justaquickone Sun 10-Nov-13 10:45:05

right i managed to access the old email account to confirm though it cost me £20 for a years subscription hmm
managed to claim one payment thank god and the other person is busy so will send payment in a bit

Thanks sandy
