Hmmm....

Bid about £3 on a 99p top. Another bidder placed a couple of bids, outbid me and then withdrew the higher bid.

I had a quick peek at this bidder, and amazingly they have bid on 66 items, 100% of which are with the same seller. 36 bid retractions, and the only items won that I can see have been relisted immediately.

How I wish I could find a complete stranger (who isn't a friend or a relative or the seller with a different account at all, no sirree) who was so keen on my auctions that they bid on everything going and didn't even want it when they won! Smile

Nice set up if you can get it eh!!

I take it you've emailed eBay with the bidder's user id?

Oh yes. And I withdrew my bid before it finished. Surprise surprise, it's just been relisted!

Do Ebay actually do anything about it though?

I thought you were only allowed to retract a small number of bids before you got a severe talking to or a ban? I'm surprised they haven't been flagged for this before if they're being that obvious about it

Do report it; it's all you can do and I would have thought Ebay would love to crack down on it.

How do you know about other Ebay member's cancelled bids, though, where do you look that up?

Dishonest bastards. Do report it though although I would be surprised if eBay gave a shiny shit.

All their items for sale have disappeared today. Shame the people who have already been ripped off are stuck with it, though.

lljkk , if you click on the blue number of bids link by the price it shows you the list of bidders with those daft stars to maintain privacy. If you click on one of the identities it shows you no of bid retractions and how many items from that seller they have bid on.

I had that last week, needed a summer scarf thingy and was outbid on about 30 of the bliddy things, did a bit of digging and the "winner" of each one was the person who had placed 1st bid at 99p. Clicking on the "anonymous" namey bit I found out the same as you, OP, this user, new to ebay, no feedback, had bid on about 150 scarves all from same seller.

Hope you reported them! If we can drive all the toe rags off eBay maybe someone might actually buy some of my stuff for silly money. Grin

Yes, I did.

Things are dire at the moment. Boden stuff which used to go for £££s is going for 55p!!!!! Pah. Makes me wonder why I bother.
