Somebody help me as Ebay customer services are crap !!

Sold an item on eBay 2 weeks ago , posted within two days with My Hermes & 10 days later the parcel came back to me , haven't a clue why confused
Anyway didn't have chance to post it it back out again because Ds was in hospital.
Posted first thing yesterday Royal mail first class recorded .
Buyer had already opened an item not received case and had contacted me twice a day since he won the item so new what was going on , I messaged him yesterday asking when he would be closing the case & he responded saying that once he had closed the case he will be opening another case saying that the item does not work as he feels he should get his money back with it taking so long angry angry
I resent the item out of my own pocket & provided proof of postage both times .
I have spoke to eBay twice telling them what he has said he is going to do and they don't give a fuck angry angry

Sorry for the language im feeling a bit lot stabby.
Is their anything I can do to ensure I don't lose out

have you entered the proof of delivery into the dispute?

Yes , but eBay say he has to close the case as he opened it

and there is a time limit on the case - if the buyer doesn't close it by then it can be escalated can't it?

Keep the message saying that he is going to claim it doesn't work.

a buyer can change a not received dispute to a not as described dispute, so there isn't anything you can do about that unfortunately.

not necessarily - it could just be empty threats on their part. Always the risk with ebay though sadly.

If it helps I have online courier proof of delivery of an item from 2 weeks ago - out of the blue buyer today claims not received. Tracking info was already there, I re-entered it into the dispute, but I have to wait until 16th to escalate, and my paypal is in negative balance. Bloody annoying. And of course I have messaged buyer and stony silence. Not impressed at all. sometimes folk on ebay are just flipping rubbish.

They are beyond rubbish , my PayPal also has a negative balance so I can't flipping pay for anything .
