hi

i buy and sell on ebay groups a lot (mostly cloth nappy related stuff and some sling stuff).

i have just had someone who is trying to buy a wetbag from me and has tried to send a payment say the payment is 'unclaimed'.

i also had this problem 2 months ago where i was the buyer and the payment i sent was 'unclaimed'.

does anyone have any advice on what to do?

this is what the buyer found as possible explanations i presume from the paypal website:

Unclaimed Payments Sent: A payment may be unclaimed for several reasons: The recipient has not signed up to PayPal and has not yet received your payment The recipient has a PayPal Personal account (which cannot receive more than 5 debit or credit card-funded payments a year) The recipient hasn't accepted the payment The recipient has chosen to individually accept or decline payments from customers who don't have a confirmed postal address. The money has been deducted from your PayPal account. You can cancel this payment by clicking "Unclaimed" and then "Cancel Payment". After 30 days unclaimed transactions are automatically cancelled.

i have received more than 5 paypal payments for goods sold, so its likely that i reached teh limit of 5 debit/credit card payments- is there any way round this?

didn't want to have a massively long OP so ive put this here :)

wrong email address? could you or they have mistyped the email. Ask them to log into their paypal, and find the payment, then they can tell you what email the payment went to, and if it is wrong cancel it and re-send it to the right address.

ive asked them to check, but this happened before to me and the email address was definitely correct (as that time it was a purchase via ebay so i wasbn't manually entering the email address to send the payment it was all automated).
