What happens if you don't despatch within you promised time?

We have recently set our despatch time to 1 day - we post everyday so it seemed sensible to cash in on the benefits given to sellers who do this.

A week after we did this, the local electric company notified us that we would be without power for a day (9am to 3pm). If they give us back power at 3pm then we will be ok - just, but what happens if they don't and we can't post until the next day (assuming we get it back next day Hmm) - other than the potential for a lot of negatives?

I use the Android app so no need for electricity. Do you have a smartphone?

Yes, I was going to use the app on the day if the power is not back on by 3pm. But I will need to hand write all the labels etc which will slow me down somewhat, I normally mailmerge them etc. I also won't be able to include the invoice which I think looks more professional.

What really annoys me is that I won't be able to use business post that day so postage will cost me more Sad

On the bright side, I also run my husband's finance company from home, so I'm getting a day off from that Grin

Can you edit your description to state this and specify the date? Also I had a problem with postage yesterday and messaged buyers. No one seemed bothered,

I never look at invoices (payment slips, actually), don't care, never send them either.

Can't you go to the library to manage your Ebay account and yes write address out, how many items do you send daily? Is it dozens, maybe?

We send about 20 to 25 on a good Tuesday. I'm going to print labels for everything up to midnight Monday night, then just hand write everything else.

Getting to the library would be a nightmare tbh, probably much more than the extra postage I'll pay Sad, but thanks for the suggestion.

My biggest worry is that it will be off for longer than they say.

I stopped including invoices / packing slips and actually saw my DSR for communication rose when I did !
Like lljkk I rarely bother with them myself and I decided to see if anyone noticed or cared if they were not included - seems they didn't.
It saves me a fair bit in paper and ink costs as well as the time involved.

My printer stopped working for a while so I didn't have any choice, never bothered again after that. Sometimes I do a handwritten thank you note inside.
