Royal Mail Postal - New Pricing from April 2013

Hi There

Please check out the Royal Mail website if you are planning list items - all the prices will change April 2013 - most importantly check out the SMALL PARCEL and MEDIUM PARCEL pricing.

Parcels are now being classified into two types and have appropriate sizing to match - a SMALL PARCEL - weight up to 2kg (£3.00) has a maximum of (350mm x 450mm x 80mm) - otherwise it is classified as a MEDIUM PARCEL - weight up to 20kg but the minimum price is £5.65....

please note a small parcel can also be upto 16x16x16cm ie 6" cube and is £2.60 second class for upto 1kg

all medium parcels and small parcels weighing more than 1kg will be cheaper via collect plus upto 5kg above 5kg collectplus are not the cheapest

also note though price change is 2nd april the effective last day for posting at old price is thursday 28th as friday and following monday are public holidays

Where did you get the information on the 16x16x16cm? On the size chart it shows one set of dimensions with no other info. If there is some leeway I'll be very grateful.

That's so useful as I'm going to list some stuff this weekend and as they are ending next weekend, I'll have to use new postal prices to not be out of pocket.
Though will probably get less bids or marked down in P&P stars until the rest of eBay realise the new prices!

ebay have said they are adjusting max postage in relevant categories

it is on royal mail list exceptions to 45x35x8 are upto 16 x 16 x 16 and tubes length 45 diameter8cm

anything you list must be new prices as if someone is does not pay still 4 days later you can not then change postage

international rates have only changed a bit

large letters not changed at all

Just checked out myhermes and it seems a lot more reasonable & easier than Royal Mail, especially if you drop at store, and if you are sending those in bulkier clothing items that are going to tip into the medium sized parcel category.
Also cheaper than collect plus if you have items in the less than 2kg category. Though love collect plus for the

I'm a new seller and am dreading the new charges. It's really going to put buyers off. Also, I'm going to have to fold really really smal to keep within the dimensions.
