Bid won and paid something for £1.00(vhs recorder)...p&p for £7.00...yeah !..no

seller tells me p&p is wrong and they need £15....I know I could fight it (MN advice)...but have not got the energy...I have asked for a refund which seller has agreed to .

Ebay message says click confirm to cancel transaction only if item has not been paid .???

If I click do I loose my claim for a refund if it is dodgy..

How do i do a refund on an item i have paid for..but not been sent due to p&p being more than seller thought.

Sorry if it is an obvious answer.

don't agree to the cancel transaction until you have received your refund.

If you have asked them for a refund then they should issue it. If you don't get it within a couple of days just message again and explain you can only agree to the cancel once you have received your refund.

they have to refund you first before cancelling the transaction

if you ignore it then it will automatically cancel in 7 days and they will get their fees back.

I think you will get a refund to Paypal balance, not to your bank. So it will never appear on your bank statement unless you actively transfer funds from Paypal back to your bank.

I won't go into other details, but basically what you want to do is message the Seller that you will NOT cancel the transaction unless they refund you in full (via Paypal) ASAP. You will get an email when they have done that. Buyer only gets to ask you to cancel a transaction once, so they will lose their fees unless they make sure you cancel this time (admittedly, may not be worth it to them for 10p+paypal fees).

Like Fergoose said, the system will automatically cancel the transaction if you do nothing. You would still be entitled to a refund, though, you don't lose any rights to that even if you do agree to cancel without having had refund first. But it may be harder to actually make them refund after transaction is formally cancelled, hence why Ebay advises you to get refund first.
