I bought an item on 23rd November. Apparently sent 2nd class on 26th. It hasn't arrived. The seller wants to send me a copy of the receipt. What would I do with that. I do believe that the seller has sent it but that it has got lost in the post. What's the best course of action - I just want my money back really (we're not talking a huge amount).

Open an Item Not Recived Case, and the seller will have to refund you.

It is up to the seller to claim against Royal Mai for the lost iteml, whether they like it or not!

Is there a more amicable way to resolve it?

yes the seller can refund you without the need for a not received dispute and they claim from royal mail for the loss. They have the contract with them not you - so it is up to them to claim. they need to refund you in full via the original paypal payment. They can also send a cancellation request to get their fees back once they have refunded you in full.

RM won't class it lost until 15 working days have passed anyway - and it's only been a week!

the seller has to refund and claim for royal mail whatever silly nonsense she may have written in her blurb about not being responsible for losses breakages etc,

just tell her it is her responsibility to claim from royal mail if lost, apparently 97% of second class mail is delivered in 3 days, I think you should give 7-10 days max then open dispute, she can only claim form RM after 15 working days

It arrived today - so 9 days after it was sent (12 days after payment received). It's a bit pants on the part of RM.
As it happens the item was for a specific event - and arrived 1 day too late :-(
