eBay

Buyers not paying

I recently sold two itens on ebay. One sold for only 99p and the buyer lived in NZ despite my notice that I was only posting within the UK. I contacted her with revised postage on Monday and again yesterday and not heard back. The other buyer has failed to contact me either. Both auctions ended Sunday so just wondering if there is a realistic time I need to wait for payment? Also both buyers have 100% positive feedback but when you look at the feedback in more detail both are full of notes which read 'terrible buyer no contact. AVOID.' yet have given them 5stars.
Why do people do that? Gits.

I had this it's really annoying. I left it 7 days then sent a polite email asking for payment with 48 hours as I wanted to post the items to clear space. (I left the threat of going to ebay unspoken). It's very frustrating you are not alone!

I have an Ebay shop so slightly different, but I get so many people buying and not paying that I now just open a case on day 4, and close it 4 days later if they don't pay. I don't bother contacting them at all. Ebay does send a reminder for you - I think after 3 days. I also have an account for selling old toys etc when we have a clearout, and we do the same on that. We have one buyer who I will literally have to drive past to get to the post office - I would be happy to drop it in and accept cash, but no response at all.

OP - we get a lot of buyers from Australia - mostly for my bigger items and dog coat knitting patterns for some reason, and I find them the most polite and helpful - maybe NZers aren't them same Sad

Is Fergoose around? If someone buys 3 items and you send them an invoice. If you then start a NPB, does it count as 1 strike or 3?

I agree - get those unpaid cases opened, no point waiting

It counts as 3 strikes doesn't it?

OOOh I do hope so. [hgrin]

It's the ones that ask me for a combined invoice and then don't pay that annoy me most. I have two sat in Awaiting Payment at the moment - day 4 tomorrow!

OP, after the NPB remember to add them to the blocked buyers list.

Hello folks, thanks for your responses! it's a pain in the ass and no mistake - not too bothered about the dress as it only went for cheap but the other sale was over a tenner which is sorely needed at the moment.

Any idea why people put positive feedback scores and negative posts ? Is it so they don't get negative feedback back? It sort of negates the point of it I thought. I'm giving them till the end of the day and then I will open disputes with Ebay. Although Ebay can't MAKE them pay can it?

Buyers cannot receive neg feedback. So positive f/back but with honest comment is best sellers can do to warn others. Bad buyers know this so some take the Mick & keep bidding without paying. Can you link to the bad buyer, so we can block him for ourselves?

Have you got your settings so that folk with 2 strikes can't bid?

Although I had one buyer (with 2+ strikes) email & nicely ask the other day if he could bit after all, he was slow about it but paid up eventually.

I'm vaguely wondering about Chargeback or another con, but X my fingers he wouldn't bother. He'd have to be complete scum and very strange to bother to do all that over a 99p item.
