I am so annoyed, seller doubled shipping costs!

I bought an easy bake oven from a us seller, its for my niece for christmas. She loves baking and her mum doesn't cook, so she comes over to mine to cook. So, won the auction, $9.99 and $25 delivery, got all excited, put together a box of utensils and a recipe book for her.

Just got an email from the seller, asking for another $25 for shipping. I'm really pissed off. Surely they should have checked this before listing?!

I'm fairly sure you can just say no - agree to cancel the sale? You agreed to the price offered, not any old price they dream up, surely.

I've asked for a refund and the sale to be cancelled.

You've done the right thing. They should know roughly what it costs to ship and doubling the price is unacceptable. At few times I've charged too much and refunded the difference, but if I've miscalculated and it came to more than I thought, I would not consider asking the buyer for more money - I've just been out of pocket.

the seller cannot charge any more shipping than is on the listing - have you paid it? If so go to paypal and dispute transaction and escalate straight away.

I didn't think they could ask for more money. An extra $10 would be annoying, but doubling takes the piss!

ok well tell the seller they are breaking the rules - they can only charge postage as per the listing and are not allowed to increase it at a later date.

I'm going to. I'd better get my money back. Will try amazon instead.

just to make 100% sure... it did say $25 for international shipping?
and nothing about it being more to send internationally in the listing?

It was definitely for international shipping, because domestic was lower.

Fergoose, not yet, am on phone atm

Maybe the seller is aware of your penchant for doubling up.
