Received negative feedback WWYD?

I sold and sent an item and the buyer left negative feedback saying it was not as described. I'm upset she didn't contact me first as I would have refunded her or discussed alternative if I had known she wasn't happy. I've hardly ever used Ebay and it was probably my fault for not being as descriptive as I could but I'm still getting used to it. Should I contact her or is there no point now the feedback has been left?

it is worth contacting the buyer - are they new? Ask them to return and then refund and then they may retract the feedback, but there is no guarantee they will even if you bend over backwards.

How much was the item, are they in the habit of leaving many negatives?

You can also leave a follow up

'so sorry - you should have contacted me first to resolve any problems''

Thanks - item was under £10 and she is not new to ebay. Not sure about the negatives - I don't even know how to find this out! She did send me a curt/ bordering on rude email about posting item to her quickly as she needed it asap so not sure she's going to be amenable!

accept the neg and follow up with fergoose's comment

it's just not worth the hassle of worrying about it really, accept and move on.

click on her feedback then click on feedback left for others to see if she does this often

I think if you respond calmly and in businesslike fashion the neg does not have to damage you.

I hate buyers like this!

I sold 2 girls swimsuits for 99p. I mentioned TWICE in the lising that one of them had the transfer peeling off in places plus a picture of it. I was left negative and she specifically mentioned it in the feedback! She hadn't contacted me either or responded when I asked for the feedback to be retracted.

I just left a comment to her feedback and hope that it doesn't put anybody off.

Someone left Neg feedback saying they didn't receive the item, then left another positive feedback a couple hours later saying thanks so
