Too good to be true?

I've been searching for twin screen dvd players to keep my Dcs from beating each other quiet on a trip down to the IoW.

I very, very rarely do long journeys, so it'll maybe only get used a couple of times.
So I want a cheap one...

too cheap?

Would you risk it? confused

Scootergrrrl Thu 11-Aug-11 21:15:50

The seller has no feedback so you would definitely be taking a risk.

fergoose Thu 11-Aug-11 21:23:43

no I wouldn't buy it - is not even a picture he took, is just a stock photo.

NoCarbsBeforeMarbs Thu 11-Aug-11 21:25:20

Thanks both!

I shall stop being such a big scrooge and buy a genuine one grin

just a thought, London location - rioters loot I wonder?

CroissantNeuf Thu 11-Aug-11 21:28:07

43 people have bought them today so are expecting the bargain of the century hmm

MonsterBookOfTysons Thu 11-Aug-11 21:29:18

Dh also thinks it is rioter loot. I want dual dvd players too, but wouldnt risk it smile

Ivortheengine8 Thu 11-Aug-11 21:29:33

LOL fergoose - probably!
Definately a looted item! grin

Even the postage is too good to be true!

and those poor buyers won't have a warranty will they?

NoCarbsBeforeMarbs Thu 11-Aug-11 21:35:30

Ooooh yeah- don't want to be pulled over for having looted stuff in my car!

NoCarbsBeforeMarbs Thu 11-Aug-11 21:43:57

MonsterBook, I've found this one which I think I'm going to go for here in case it's any use to you

Think it's a safer bet!

MonsterBookOfTysons Thu 11-Aug-11 21:50:29

Thanks carbs, the listing has ended now though, did you buy it in time? smile

NoCarbsBeforeMarbs Thu 11-Aug-11 21:54:27

No! I was farting around on facebook! grin

Don't need them for a few weeks though, so will just have to keep searching.

Just had a look and looks very dodgy. DH works for eBay so he's reported it as they're on the look out for potentially looted stock. I'd avoid anything like this on there for a while if it looks too good to be true and especially if the seller has no history.

MonsterBookOfTysons Thu 11-Aug-11 22:09:55

Damn Carbs, what a PITA. Good luck trying to get some, I know Toys R us are doing some, dont know how much though smile

EdwardorEricCantDecide Thu 11-Aug-11 22:14:53

I agree looks dodgy as seller has no history

horsemadgal Fri 12-Aug-11 00:49:14

£1.56 postage??

Fuzzywood Fri 12-Aug-11 15:35:37

DH texted earlier to say this listing has been removed. If you come across any more do let eBay know, they are trying to find and remove any dodgy looking listings but obviously it's difficult for them to find them all.

fergoose Fri 12-Aug-11 16:02:18

how do you report - do you choose prohibited items?

fergoose Fri 12-Aug-11 16:03:12

sorry just looked - bottom of the list is stolen goods.

Think I need more coffee! smile
