Can I list items separately, but also as a BuyItNow for them all together?

I have a lovely children's room/nursery set from John Lewis whch has:
(Matching)

  • curtains
  • duvet cover/ pillowcase
  • beanbag

-2 x cushions

I can't decide whether to list them separately, or as a 'set' i.e. together in one listing?

Could I list separate auctions, but then have one BuyItNow for the whole set in case someone wants it all together?

(I'd have to say in the auctions that the items may be withdrawn if bought under BIN...)

Or would that not be allowed?

It would deffo be easier to sell in one lot.

Not allowed to do that. You need to decide whether to list separately or as ome. Afaik there is no way to combine both options.

Haunted - do you know that for sure, or do you just have a 'gut feel' that that's the case IYSWIM?

I'm sure I've seen ads before where it says "this car is listed elsewhere, so may be withdrawn if sold..."?

The example you give is strictly against rules (or was 12m ago, and on other areas of the auction; I know cars have some unique rules). Just cos you say you've seen it doesn't mean it is allowed.

But I don't know for sure but I couldn't find a way to do similar to what you describe when I wanted to a couple of years ago when a buyer wanted to guarantee getting 2 items I had listed separately.

Oh - OK then! Thanks.

Looks like it might be best to try it as a group first, perhaps with a reserve or a 'Best Price' auction?

if you list them separately but state in the listing you have other items currently on auction from the matching set you may find you will get more bids if people want the full set. State on the listing you will combine the P&P for multiple items.

slm - yes, I know that's an option, but in the past when I've listed stuff that is arguably part of a set then people have said "but I don't want x unless I can be sure I will also have y" which I can sort of understand.

It is a free listing weekend this weekend. You can try them as a group, with a reasonable starting price, and if they don't sell split them up for the next time, with nothing lost except your time.

Or

Split them in 2 groups, with reasonable start price and BIN, with each listing referring to the other batch and saying you'll combine postage if they buy both.
