Just get on my nerves... I sold a pair of mens hugo boss shoes for £51, as i was packing them up i noticed the size was different on them to the 1 i had stated (my partner is an 8 so i assumed they were too). I emailed the seller to say sorry for the mistake and if he wanted a refund it would be no problem, he told me not to worry send the shoes so he could try and if they were n good he would send them back.

I then waited 3 weeks for him to ignore my emails and finally get back to me saying they were too small and asked for my address to return them to. this was now 2 weeks ago today and after emailing him again and again he said he would post them sometime last week. The thing is as he was posting them back to me i stupidly re-listed them (stupid i know but were desperate for the money and didnt want to wait another week for the sale to finish).

They have now sold again for £32, still no shoes so im going to have to email this seller and explain how stupid ive been, but why are some so annoying not to even answer my emails. they obviously dont fit him as he said so why would he want to keep hold of them instead of getting his money back???

Not really the buyers that are the problem though, surely?

You listed them without checking the size, then you listed them again without having them in your possession - and it's the BUYERS who are daft?

Hmm

I think the person being silly here isn't necessarily the buyer.

I think you're getting a hard time over this, you made a mistake and tried to rectify it. I'd take up the issue with ebay/paypal regarding the first buyer. He should return the shoes to you as he said and then he can have a refund.

I don't think you're being silly at all, you're just trying to sort it out.

Hope you get the shoes back soon.

If he's not pushing for a refund and not sent them back, why should he be expected to? Maybe he's decided to keep them after all which is after all, completely his right.

I kind of agree with the others. Assuming you haven't refunded him (you shouldn't have), then you still have his money so it shouldn't matter if he doesn't return them to you.
In regards to the second buyer, ask them if they're willing to cancel the transaction officially. If you don't do this, they can leave you negative feedback. To be honest, I would leave negative feedback if I'd bought something, probably paid for it, and then I'm told the item doesn't exist after all. The buyer is probably quitted annoyed about this themselves.

Hiya

The second buyer was ok about it actually and yes i did admit to being an idiot for relisting but as it says in my first post we are desperate for the money so couldnt wait for another few weeks to relist.

I just had 2 other people emailing demanding there money back as 1 item was too small and the second has had the tags cut out (as described though), both insisting i hadnt described it correctly, i organise for them to return them and guess what... they have both now decided then can live with these things now! why bother moaning about it demanding this and that then just turn round and say oh well doesnt matter ill just keep them now anyway!

Probably because they can't be arsed returning and were just looking for some money off.

Send the first guy an email saying that you need them back by a certain date, or you won't be able to refund.

Hi, i sent the 1st guy an email last week, he said they have now been sent out to me, im now worried that a) why has it taken him so long to get to the post office and b) the state they are going to be in when i do recieve them, i know he wanted to wear them for a wedding which has come and gone so my initial thought was he was just buying time ignoring my emails asking for them back.

If he returns them and there worse than when i sent them what could i do, if anything - just concerned if i refuse to refund the money but instead send him the shoes back can he open a case against me, this auction finished on the 4th may,i posted out the 6th its taken till now for him to bother replying to any of my emails asking whats going on??

if they are worn and not in the condition you sent them out in, then you will need to send them back

the buyer has 45 days from the 4th May to open a claim, so I guess that the 19th June is his deadline.

When did he send them back and when do you expect to receive them - I can't believe it has taken him such a time to send them back but maybe they are unworn and all will be well.

I just had an email off him yesterday saying he would be sending them back this week sometime as his work kept him away longer than usual - yet he was still at home to sign for them, try them on and email me a week later to say they didnt fit, so he had all that time to do it now lies and says he was away. Just dont really trust him but more than anything it annoys me how long it has taken him to get in touch, i understand people are busy etc but if it was my £50 id make sure i got it back as quickly as i could! We'll see anyway if he actually does return them or not! thanks again

You do not have the stuff that ebay sellers are made of.

Thanks so much for your opinions, actually have been selling on ebay for over 10 years so do have the experience of being a seller.

As for the language - any need at all, if you dont underdstand just leave the thread dont send abuse, manners cost nothing.

So sorry for daring to ask a question on here that other people seemed able to understand and respond to me in a civil manner, Stupid me thought it was a place to come in an open environment for anyone and ask advice of other people, didnt realise i had to be vetted by you experts, dont worry i wont bother again!

Vix did you receive the shoes back in the end? I hope it all worked out.

I'm sorry, but if you have been selling for 10 years then you should know better than to list without having the item in hand. What I'm banging on about is compounding a genuine mistake with a stupid one and then spicing that with a crap attitude towards the buyer. It gives eBay a bad reputation.
