Hi me and my partner (same sex couple) are trying for a baby at home artificial insemination we have just tried for our first cycle and tried a pregnancy test yesterday and I know it's definitely to early as our last try was Sunday and she isn't due her period for another week or two but we think we see a very very very faint line but don't know if it's our mind playing tricks on us can anyone help us out and tell us if we are dreaming haha
Ps how do insert a picture of it I'm brand soanking new here 😂

If you're new you can't post pictures.

Was her ovulation on Sunday? If so, then I'm afraid there's no possible way you could get a positive at 4dpo; implantation doesn't happen until after that so there's no HCG to be detected until later on.

We did it Sunday Wednesday and Sunday again does this help we kinda have a donor on tap if that makes sense so we use fresh sperm and orgasm before and after 🙈 Do you know how long till I can post pictures thank you for the reply btw

Not sure about the pictures.

So, do you not actually know when she ovulated? If it was in the early phase of your attempts then a positive result is possible by now (it would still be quite an early result).

Fingers crossed this is the cycle, but if it turns out not to be then I'd really recommend pinning down your partner's ovulation a bit more closely, just to save your donor from unnecessary endeavours.

Find out from her when she ovulated and we can comment a bit more accurately on how likely a positive is. Fingers crossed!

Well, if it was the Sunday she's 11dpo which would be quite early but not an unexpected time to see a positive if she's pregnant. If the Wednesday, she's 8dpo when maaaaaaybe you might see a very early positive. (And, for hopefully unnecessary future reference, that third insem didn't need to happen; an egg only lasts 24 hours max after ovulation.)

Hi, I conceived in the same situation and am currently 19 weeks pregnant. Every woman's body is different and some of this is down to luck, but for us it worked first time and got a positive at 11dpo. It was very faint and we only got a strong line when I missed my period.
It's really important to track your ovulation (your partner's in this case) though I'm sure she's doing that.
As a pp has said, inseminating after ovulation is basically pointless unless it's within 24h. Or the egg will be dead already. But if you've inseminated before ovulation then hopefully the swimmers caught the egg when it arrived! Sperm can live for a few days (I think about 5) once it's in tge reproductive tract.
We inseminated 3 times during fertile week, once at the beginning, once on the evening of getting a positive ovulation test and once the morning after. Though it seems that I caught on the first insemination as my dates at my first scan were further along than I thought!
Best of luck to you both.
