So let me kick off our shiny new thread with an intro:
I am kwick
43 21 and single
Have done 9 treatments so far - natural IUI, medicated IUI, stimulated IVF and natural IVF. After 2 BFPs followed by two devastating MCs I am now turning to donor egg IVF. But first I must get my BMI down to 35 or below.

Turtle I contrarily done limited research and was not at all prepared for the probing questions of the counsellor - but I found the session really useful to confirm that I really wanted to do this - despite how difficult it may be.
I wish CRGH had been as forceful about ensuring I had counselling post MCs rather than pre-treatment.

Epigenetics ROCK!!!!!

Hi Ever here, aged 41 (just) and single. 2 ivfs, first producing my angel baby mabel in the sky and 2 nd zero fertilisation!!
Just embarking very shortly on a DE cycle at serum clinic in Greece. Epigenetics does indeed rock kwik Best to stick to basic principles with it though I ve found, bought a book, been blinded by science. Baby dreams to all xx

StorkAhoy here!

39, single. 3 ivf and icsi since October 2016, all bfn.

No real reason for the fail to launch as it were, but I've produced 40eggs over those three rounds and only got 3 x early blasts and 2 x three day embryos from them and none in the freezer, so Ive decided to move onto Serum Clinic in Athens, Greece, where I hope to use Donor Embryos. At least then I will get a clearer idea if it's an eggs or a lining issue....

epigenetics rocks! And infertility sucks!

Wishing your babies all find their way to you my ttc sisters. Xx

Hi, I'm Tiny!

I'm 31. I have a girlfriend, we don't live together but are serious about each other.

Currently awaiting a hysterosalpingogram to check tubes are patent then planning to try IUI with donor sperm from a bank.

Looking at alternative clinics due to the long wait for appointments at my current one, but not found anything better so far.

Hi everyone and thanks kwik for the shiny new thread!

I'm London, 37, happily shacked up with my girlfriend. I'm hoping to carry, and we're using my eggs & donor sperm from Xytex, being treated at LWC.

We did our first medicated IUI this month, and are in the two week wait (which you ladies have taught me to call twot!) Testing day is Weds 23 August, so am trying to relax and have fun til then! Smile

I'm Turtle, single, 34
Just starting out with Herts&Essex FC, first appt on Fri. Hoping to qualify for egg sharing and impatient to get on with things!

Thanks all, for the advice on the counselling. I'm happy to do it but it's another thing to fit in around work and before I can get started proper. Good to hear there's phone appointments available. I was imagining me lying on a couch in a bookcase lined office!

Wonky what's the cost at HEFC?

I'm Pez, 34 (for a few more weeks), single.

Expecting my mini Miss Pez for 19 Dec (just reaching 22 weeks). I used Create FC in London and got pregnant on my first mild ivf following 3 unsuccessful attempts at IUI.

I'm sticking around as I NEED to know what's happening with all of you ladies 😊

I'm wonky, 34, single.
Starting first attempt at IVF in a couple of weeks so am super excited about it. Decided to go straight for IVF as low ovarian reserve. Am also at Herts and Essex.

Turtle I can't remember the exact cost but think it will end up being about £7000 all in (including sperm (2 vials from xytex), initial appointment, drugs, ICSI, SIS and pipelle). Saved some pennies by getting my GP to request the blood tests and going to my sexual health clinic for the Chlamydia screening (very glamorous).

Good luck today Snork. Really exciting to get started. Fingers crossed.

When is your cycle due to start? Excited for you, are you medicated or non medicated I can't remember

Got my booking midwife appointment through for 12th September 😁
(Hope it's ok to stay around, want to know like Pez, how your all getting on & this thread has been a massive saviour for me :) )

Yeah thanks yeah currently sotting with an ice pack which is helping a bit.

I am expecting my cycle to start sometime in the next week or so pickle (depends on when af appears) i will be 5 days of letrozole but no injections. Hoping timing all works out to avoid IUI on 7th Sep because I am away that day. It would be rotten lick if that was the day. Actually thinking I should probably call clinic to pay and arrange meds.

Of course its ok for you to hang around pickle always good to have a reminder that it does work, especially when we have had so many bfn's recently

I'm hoping I've shifting our run of bfns and we are going to get a huge stack of bfps
Good luck for the next one bear

Thanks 😘

Hi ladies! Has anyone utilised their private healthcare to get fertility procedures carried out? Specifically Im wondering if I could get my GP to refer me for the hysteroscopy my clinic is suggesting I have - and Im wondering if BUPA will agree.

Anyone any experience in this kind of thing?

Wonky35 · 15/08/2017 10:34

Just wondering if anyone has any particular tips for diet during IVF? Have read about warm foods, high protein, pineapple and lots of fluids but was wondering if I should be thinking about anything else. Thanks.
