Hey, anyone else out there considering donor embryo? We are thinking of going down this route and it would be nice to chat to others in the same boat

Hi zippy Have considered using donor embryo and still might change my mind, but currently am set on a full donor egg cycle at Serum clinic in Greece starting next month. Very excited.
Am single so therefore also using donor sperm so couldn't have used donor embryo in the UK, because of legalities of the sperm donor being named as the legal father, but its something I ve seriously considered at Serum because although its a one shot, it is a lot cheaper. So may use this option if donor egg cycle fails!!
Where are you planning on having your treatment? UK or abroad?x

Hi everhopeful I am thinking abroad but still not sure whether to go down the road of double donor or donor embryo. It's a lot to think about isn't it. Is this your first donor egg cycle?

Hi zippy its my first donor egg cycle yes. I ve had 2 OE cycles, the first resulted in my beautiful angel baby in the sky, Mabel, and the 2nd zilch fertilisation from 1 solitary egg.
Having experienced such a traumatic loss, psychologically I just need to have the greatest chance of holding a baby in my arms. If this works out, I may even try again with my OE's
Epigenetics is a wonderful thing, hopefully it works out.
I chose full donor egg cycle to maximise my chances and hopefully attempts too. Serum only guarantee 2 blastocysts, but the match is hopefully closer to my colouring and some of my features. Am on my own doing this too so in actual fact it doesn't really matter because the match will be more to the egg donor than the sperm!!
You ll certainly spend less money if the embryo works first time, apparently similar odds but also a one-shot. Serum will defrost 2 embryos and then up to you if you want 1 or 2 transferred. As I spent 3.5 weeks with Mabel in NICU, am very worried about twins.
Its a complete minefield!! xx

I have two children born as a result of donor embryos. I had treatment outside of the UK. Did you have any specific questions? I'm happy to answer them if I can

What a load of crap happyandpregnant whose username should actually be happy-smug-and-a-fake-pregnant-spammer-from-the-Ukraine, but that doesn't quite have the same ring to it does it?

You're clearly here to do a bad job of advertising your dodgy clinic in the Ukraine. Sure you'd love to send the OP a private message because then no one else on here can see the advertising crap you're raving about and confront you about it.

On another thread you're encouraging a same sex couple to use a surrogate even though their only known issue is a lack of sperm, so I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to follow your bad advice.
