Hi I'm new to this , I'm wondering if anyone have conceived through artificial insemination I'm 23 and looking to start within the next couple of years I know its a long time yet but I am wanting to do my research first. I live in Darlington county Durham and heard that the London woman's clinic in Darlington do it and wondered if anyone had had it done there and generally just to catch to other woman in my situation I am single and have no interest in finding a relationship but know I want nothing more than to have my own child.

Yes its quite straightforward when you are ready go for it. I've heard that the london womens clinic is a bit overpriced though and not the best. Any infertility clinic is fine doesn't have to be one marketed at single women. I actually went to denmark it is a bit cheaper even with flights and accommodation, mainly I went abroad because I just wanted to do simple IUI and not bother with infertility tests to start with.

Yeah I had seen a old thread on here saying about going to Denmark for it, if you don't mind me asking how much roughly was it in Denmark? Did you do it alone or have family support ? X

I've done insemination in a number of ways, twice I had IUI at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Gateshead, it was about £1000 + £300 for sperm, I also imported sperm from Denmark which ended up about £500 a cycle.

I did look at LWC in Darlington but decided due to sheer amount of appointments it was easier to go somewhere closer to home.

Hi there
It cost me about £700 per cycle for the treatment actually going to the clinic (diers klinik), that was for 'known' donor ie the child can meet them later. I do have a lot of family support. I didn't tell them before hand because I felt it was private and I probably wouldn't get pregnant. In some ways I do wish I told my mum before because it upset her a bit though not being told at the time.
