Return to nursing - will this work?

I'm doing the rtp course in March and the plan was to reduce my hours in my current job and do both together but I'm becoming increasingly worried that it won't work and wondered what others thoughts are?

On the rtp course I will spend 1 day per week at university for 5 weeks and 2 days per week on placement for 10 weeks.
Alongside this I'll have an assignment to write, job hunting, reading up on stuff I've come across on placement and then looking after DS, the dog and the house (single parent).

I currently work as a safeguarding officer in a school 4 days per week. It's a very stressful and emotionally draining job. From March I was going to reduce my hours from 4 days to 2 days but I'm not sure whether to just leave instead so that I can concentrate fully on the nursing. I suffer with anxiety and I'm not sure whether trying to juggle everything will be too much.

Financially it doesn't matter which option I do, this is more to do with stress and mental well being.

What do you think?

If financially it doesn't matter, leave the job to focus on training x

Thanks. I'm a little worried about not having a job after the rtp course and then a gap on my cv. It's hard to know what to do for the best.

I'm paeds trained so jobs are fewer. It's probably just my anxiety getting the better of me, I've not slept well the past few nights so it's harder to think properly.

If it won't affect you financially then definitely finish work and concentrate on your training, it is actually a really nice position to be in.

You will find a job straight away once you have finished your course, there is a massive shortage of nurses.

Could you start applying for jobs now so you have one set up for when you finish the course?

Hopefully there will be plenty of vacancies in April once the new budgets start.
