Has anyone any experience of the company or used them? They have been in the press recently and the ethos appeals.
I am exploring my options (likely to be filing for adultery or unreasonable behaviour) and I want to keep things as easy as possible, particularly and mainly with regards to the consent order. He is currently appearing very reasonable and we are currently managing to be grown up about everything. As an aside I feel under pressure to get things sorted sooner rather than later so that a) I can sort it before he gets entangled financially with his ow and b) I want to sell the house (and don't want to do this without the protection of a consent order).
Anyway they seem to be suggesting £900 for consent order. The (potentially unknown) costs with family lawyers worries me and I don't want to turn it into a bun fight. Just cut my losses and move on I suppose.
Anyway thoughts greatly appreciated!
I saw that too. Just checking their website. I can see they coach you to fill in form e and decide the split of finances and childcare. And a legal professional (presumably not a solicitor) writes it up for you to submit.
But does this count as a MIAM? Not sure.
Filling the petition in online and agreeing to it was a doddle. I really don't know why anyone hands over money for that bit.
But yes I'm very interested in using them if it's the same cost as a solicitor for the next bit.
I have booked a free phone consultation. I will ask about the MIAM. I was also going to ask what happens if the judge refuses to grant the proposed consent order on whatever grounds and how much support they offer to provide additional information or revise the order (and at what cost)
I have just read on the family mediation council's website that a miam is not necessary if both parties are in agreement and there is no dispute.
Hi - I used Amicable for my divorce. In all honesty there were pluses and minuses using them - we used their full "coaching fixed fee divorce" can't remember what the package was actually called. If I had my time again i wouldn't use them. I didn't feel I was being that well looked after if that makes sense. I wont go into too much detail here but feel free to PM.
