What can he expect from a divorce settlement?

Hi everyone. I am looking for some advice for a family member. He's currently thinking about divorce proceedings against his ex. They got together young, together for 15 years and were married for 5. She left him in June this year. No explanation, just said she was done. Took their DD who is 5 out of the marital home. Found a flat for her and her dd and basically told him there's no going back. Though she hasn't suggested a divorce, he wants to get one as she's made it clear they will never reconcile. He works 40 hours a week, earning around 30k a year. While they were together she didnt pay for anything (other than her mobile phone contract) as she just had a little side-job which was more of a hobby than full time earner. He paid for everything, mortgage, bills, car insurance, sky, holidays etc. This left him with very little left over each month. Now he's concerned what is going to be financially expected of him if he goes ahead with a divorce. The house is worth around 200k, he paid the 30k deposit for the house which was bought around 7 years ago. He's got another solicitor appt next week to hand over his bank statements, house valuation etc etc but he's worried that she's going to want 50% of the house as he really doesn't have that kind of money. He has their DD three nights a week and every other weekend. What should he expect from a financial settlement and what is usual in cases like this?
