Help please - can anyone advise if these would be acceptable grounds of unreasonable behaviour? There are plenty more which are much worse but I'm trying to keep it as amicable as possible and would rather avoid the cost of a solicitor if at all possible.
- The Respondent often drinks excessively, in the view of the Petitioner, which causes him to behave in an unpleasant manner, causing the Petitioner distress.
- The Respondent is financially irresponsible and has, over the course of the marriage, spent the marital savings as well as taking out high interest loans, most recently in March 2018, without the Petitioner's knowledge or consent.
- The Petitioner and Respondent do not share any common interests and only spoke to each other in the latter part of the marriage regarding their daughter, making the Petitioner feel isolated and lonely.
- Since March 2018 the Respondent has slept in a different bedroom to the Petition, which has made the Petitioner feel unloved and neglected.
- The Petitioner has not had sexual relations with the Respondent since February 2018.
- The Respondent refuses to discuss the issues within the marriage with the Petitioner.
As a result of the Respondent’s unreasonable behaviour, the Petitioner found it impossible to continue living with the Respondent. Consequently, the Petitioner permanently vacated the former matrimonial home on the 25th July 2018 since when the Petitioner and the Respondent have lived entirely separate and apart.
Thanks!
