What would you do if you hadn't long split with someone but you meet someone who you fall for who seems to be perfect? Do you let them go and hope they will be there later down the road or grab life with two hands and embrace it

Go for it

Would it just make people think something was going on while with the other?

Go for it. Life’s too short and you’re single. People will judge no matter what you do.

It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, take a chance at happiness!

What if a child is involved

Mxyzptlk Thu 26-Oct-17 18:42:28

Don't involve the child until you are sure what you're doing.

If ex found out I dread to think what will happen

kippersandkittens Fri 27-Oct-17 08:06:38

Why is the child involved?

You can't help when you meet people, if you think this is a real chance at happiness then I say grab with two hands and embrace (be that life or said person! wink).

If you go for it, keep it private for a few months. Ie don't tell mutual friends or your child. It does have the potential to make your split much more messy if your ex is also having to deal with you having found someone else so quickly.

Totally depends on whether o have children.

If I have children and I’ve just split from the father... I would let that opportunity go without hesitation. They need stability following family breakdown.

No children? I’d 100% go for it

Something similar happened to me. Ex used it much to his advantage and garnered a huge sympathy vote. I lost a few (fair-weather) friends over it despite him doing pretty much the same thing, only keeping it a secret longer!

I don’t regret it. Take the chance at happiness, life is too short!
