How many mediation sessions?

Just that really, going to mediation at the end of the month and wondering how many sessions on average it takes to work things out? It's probably a question such as "how long is a piece of string?"!

We are working out finances and child access, so all areas.

Thanks!

Really interested in is too as in the process of arranging first session. Not sure what to expect. Still waiting for house valuation first (want to buy him out)

We managed it in 2, 1 for the kids and 1 for finances. It did help that neither of us were prepared to pay huge legal bills so were determined to sort it as quickly as possible.

I've just had my first joint one and was told we need 2 more. There were separate ones before that, so 4 in total for each of us.
