Delaying Form E

Hi is there any delaying tactics from not submitting the Form E?
Ex's solicitor stated 14th Dec of which I adhered to and now I am still waiting for the other side, I chased once (as it costs me money) and they said they were still awaiting some documents. I'm starting to get suspicious as to the long delay, can anyone shed any light??

My ex did the same. I submitted mine, he didn't and eventually I had to update mine and he still didn't do his. He's had 2 versions of mine and I've not seen his at all. I first submitted mine a year ago. I now have to take him to court and I can't afford to. The first date is in April.

We didn't use them despite both havnig lawyers. Do you need one - do you not just know what the other earns - most couples do and know what pensions and savings each have and in that case you don't need to bother with form Es.

Similar here and I have a question.

He's told his solicitor that he wants to attend his first mediation session prior to completing Form E. I don't understand this, the form is a statement of facts, there is no subjectivity to it.

Is he just delaying?

It's needed because of property abroad and business. Ex is abroad living the same as normal whereas I'm in UK (still paying into accounts) but not being able to move on and get sorted, so I'm guessing they are in no hurry to submit form e possibly to spite me??

If it's needed it's needed. I always knew and know everything as I did both our tax returns, had his P60s, and we only had joint accounts and joined assets and had full knowledge of each other's pensions which were on a par with each other so we each kept our own pensions.

If the Form E takes 2 or 3 hours of lawyer time to fill out and that will cost about £1000 then in smaller divorce cases it might be better just not bothering due to cost. If there are hundreds of thousands between the two offers on each side or as people say hidden assets (although plenty of people lie on the form anyway so it's not assurance assets are disclosed or properly valued anyway) then you might need it.

Mine is doing the same and now i've filed at court for him to do it.

Could he be delaying because it is 1 years worth of bank accounts - could he be waiting to hide a significant sum transferred a year ago or something?

I'd say they were delaying in order to 'hide' some assets.

Same situation, taken 3 years but I've not had financial order issues forcing form E disclosure etc. It s late due to delaying tactics, tax evasion clearly from last year from viewing just one of the accounts through a voluntary but completely incomplete disclosure. Much more behind the scenes, probably illegal, and getting a penal notice pout shortly.

Unfortunately divorce is a quick as the slowest person... my husband filed and has since tried his hardest to slow the process down? Think he may well have been a bit hasty!
