Hello,

To cut a VERY long story short, my partner filed for divorce from his wife over 4 years ago and its STILL going on....as you can imagine its been too messy to even begin going in to detail so ill get straight to my question! :)

We have been given a court date of 28th July 2015. We dont need to attend. Things have been silent for months. Could this be where we are given the Nisi?

I guess my direct question is this: In the letter from the court issuing the court date, do they state that this event is to declare the Nisi or not?

I have read about people getting a court letter for their Nisi but our letter didnt state the purpose of the date so i was after some real life experiences perhaps?

After 4 years, as you can imagine, im going out my mind wondering if this could finally....be the end....

Thank you all in advance.
Charlotte xx

Is no one advising you? Solicitor, CAB etc? If not, why not ring the court Clerk and ask what will happen at the hearing?

Unfortunately if it was my Divorce the process would be a lot more driven but as my partner is the driver and a typical male along side ADHD, things dont always get done and detail gets forgotten.

His Lawyer is also a family friend and not very proactive as a result.

I was just wondering if there was a standard format for the Nisi hearings where they MUST tell you in the letter the purpose of the hearing, if so, then it means our upcoming court date is not for the Nisi as the letter did not state the reason.

Thank you,
C

Why would you attend anyway? HE is the one getting the divorce, let him ask the family friend.

I didn't say I would be attending or had that desire, as both you and I have stated....it's not my process.

You wrote WE don't need to attend so I thought you would if you could!
